Spacious vacation apartment with fireplace + children's play corner, 10 + 2 persons

Our "Haus Kristall" is located in the popular village of Scheffau at the foot of the Wilder Kaiser. With its many bedrooms and numerous bathrooms, it’s especially ideal for (extended) families or groups looking for a relaxing winter or summer vacation.

Upon entering the apartment, you’ll first find yourself in an open hallway that connects the living, sleeping, and dining areas. The spacious living room, where two additional guests can sleep on the sofa beds, features a fireplace and a small reading nook—here you can wind down the evenings in a cozy atmosphere after a day of activities. Adjacent to this is a large open kitchen area, which has recently been expanded to include a play kitchen and a small children’s play area. The kitchen is well-equipped, so even those for whom cooking is an important part of their relaxation should find it to their liking. In addition, we have installed a permanent outdoor grill near the entrance to the house, which you are welcome to use. We are happy to provide two high chairs or booster seats for older toddlers.
The separate bedrooms each have a small bathroom with a shower and toilet—so coordinating bathroom use during your vacation at Haus Kristall should be no problem at all! In addition, the balcony is accessible from every room, allowing you to enjoy the view of the mountains from there every now and then. We’re also happy to provide one or two wooden cribs (60x120) upon request.

The apartment underwent extensive renovation in 2015—oak floorboards were installed throughout the entire floor, with the exception of the bathrooms.

For winter vacationers, there is a spacious ski storage room with plenty of boot dryers. A washing machine and dryer are also available—they are located in the building’s basement in a large laundry room reserved exclusively for our guests.

“Haus Kristall” is located a 5-minute drive from the Scheffau valley station of the SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser–Brixental, one of Austria’s largest contiguous ski areas. A multiple award winner, it offers skiing fun for both advanced skiers and families with small children. The village of Scheffau is also well connected to the valley station by ski buses. The nearest ski bus stop is less than 100 meters from Haus Kristall.

For your summer vacation, the region offers a wonderful network of hiking trails that stretch over a total of nearly 700 km. Notable destinations include Hintersteiner Lake, as well as numerous family-friendly attractions around the nearby mountain stations.

About a 5-minute walk from the house, you’ll find the tourist office and a highly recommended ski rental shop. Various dining options are also within walking distance. The Kaiserbäckerei, located in the lower part of the village, offers a bread roll delivery service for those who’d like to skip the morning trip there.

The house, formerly run by nuns, is also ideal for retreats surrounded by nature. Please inquire in person for more information.
