We had a wonderful time at the Scottish cottage – the property is truly unique. It’s a beautiful and secluded spot surrounded by nature. The cottage is fully equipped and offers stunning views of the surrounding trees. Sheila is a charming and helpful host who was always available whenever we needed anything. We would absolutely recommend this cottage and would love to come back someday!

A hidden gem, well off the beaten track. Wake in the morning to the sound of a nearby waterfall. Discover wild deer grazing outside your window. Come here for the peace and quiet, or for ready access to outdoor pursuits in Fort William, or both. It's lovely.

Before our stay we had very swift and clear communication about our questions and instructions how to get to the chalet. The chalet itself is somewhat outdated but well enough accommodated for a small family to stay for a week. The chalet is very secluded but provides a nice location to scout the attractions within 1,5 hours drive. With Tesla superchargers in Fort William even driving an EV was no problem.

Amazing location right at the end of a glen, perfect for peace and quiet. We left the car at the property and did some local walks, also close enough to be able to explore the area if you wish to do so. Cozy and warm, everything you need for self catering, amazing skies on a clear night.

Arrived to find the most amazing cabin with beautiful surrounding scenery. Everything you would need was there. It was clean and very comfortable. We stopped off to buy our groceries before we arrived, but upon our arrival there was some milk, teabags and shortbread to welcome us. There was myself, husband, 2 sons (9 and 12) and our wee dog. Our host Shiela, was in contact with us shortly after we arrived to make sure everything was fine and was there for us if we had any questions. We had no problems and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This cabin is well situated for either a relaxing time, doing nothing as it is so peaceful, going for lovely walks, or jumping in the car and exploring this beautiful part of Scotland. We went for a long walk up the road that continues on after the entrance to the cabin and had the most amazing views of the Nevis Range behind us, with snow on top of the higher peaks, and the ice age valley on the other. We shared our walk with the sheep, the eagles (or buzzards, not too sure to be honest) and the deer. We then took the car along the road opposite to the view point for the Ice Age Parallel "roads" that was something to see!! Ventured into Fort William, the Glenfinnan Viaduct, Urquhart Castle and the Nessie exhibition at Drumnadrochit. So glad we found this wee gem of a place. It is what you want it to be, relaxing... or not, and maybe even a bit of both, with the perfect combination of lazy mornings and evenings and busy days.

Beautiful location…peaceful, quiet and tranquil. We spent a relaxing few days in this lovely, cosy and very comfortable lodge 🤗 Everything we needed was there. Could not fault any part of it…better than we could ever have imagined. We enjoyed long walks with our dogs Onyx and Kuma who were also made very welcome. Sheila is lovely and a fantastic host…very welcoming, friendly and helpful 😍 We look forward to returning in the near future 😊

We experienced a nice warm welcome. Tea and some cookies were there for us. In the morning some sheeps visited the garden. This gave us the feeling to be in the middle of the country close to nature. After an active day we enjoyed the sauna. This is a real advantage of this cabin. We also liked having a bath. It was a bit difficult to get a good stream of hot water if you want to shower in the bath. We advise the owner to have this looked at. The beds were fine. The only thing we mist was storage space in the small bedroom. We enjoyed our week here and recommend this cabin for future quests.

This place is very beautiful! Near a stream/river. Fort william, fort augustus, loch ness, inverness etc are very near. We got a very warm welcome from the owner (Sheila). We came in later than planned, that was no problem. The house is fully equiped, the owner thought of everything someone might need, when out on vacation. Thank you Sheila for everything! This is a lovely log cabin at the end of the road up a beautiful peaceful valley. Sheila, the owner, is friendly and helpful. We found a range of items provided for us to use on arrival - biscuits, milk, tea-bags etc. - this was a thoughtful touch. The property is very well equipped - a well-chosen selection of good quality kitchen utensils/crockery/cutlery/pans etc, as well as games, jigsaw, books, maps and things like that. It is an excellent location for hill-walking, which was the reason for our visit. So, overall it was great, but there were things that could be improved: * Shower wasn't working properly - fiddlesome to get any hot water out of it, and then only the merest trickle. * Lighting is a bit dim. It would be nice to have a bit more light in the evening for reading, looking at maps and such like. * Electricity costs are extra. That's not unreasonable, but I think it should be made more clear in the VRBO page for the property (the information is present, but rather hidden away) That sounds a bit negative, so I will repeat - we loved the property and we had a brilliant week there!

Sheila made our stay feel like a home from home. She was thoughtful and caring and included everything we needed and more. The cabin was a good size and the sauna and spa bath were a really nice bonus. Whilst the cabin isn't the most modern, it had such a lovely feel and was warm and welcoming. Lovely comfy beds too. Our spaniel loved the location and fantastic walks nearby.

Two weeks of relaxing silence, nothing more to hear than the small river and some cows. Perfect location off the road and village, but still close enough to drive into town to go out for dinner etc. Definitely recommending this place to anyone who wants to feel the places he goes to. 5 Stars.

When we arrived we were told the water was conternitate and would have to use bottled water for drinking and brushing teeth.In the small room there was a damp problem which was very mouldy and smelly,in the double room there was a very bad smell of damp which was making sleeping and breathing very difficult. Even with these issue sheila did her best to make our stay great to which it was,she cleaned the cabin rooms as much as she could and compensated us with free electric.The question would i stay again (YES) is the answer thanks Sheila for everything great place to stay,oh yes thanks for the wifi you had fitted it make the nights better when you have teenage daughter.Without the issues above the stay would have been perfect

We had a lovely time at oak lodge,the little touchs were very thoughtful fresh flowers, milk teabags coffee sugar ,just when you needed that cuppa all was there. Very home from home all you needed was there . Nice location for exploring lots off information on places too go , an see An do An lots off walks . Sheila was very helpful An sorted everything so quick when needed ,we had a problem with the shower I emailed an the plumber came the very next day problem sorted you don't get this service everywhere . Sauna was very nice after a long days hiking up Ben Nevis just what we needed . Lots off wildlife right outside your lodge loved watching the bats at night .An so many more stars too see up here in Scotland as there is less light pollution amazing . A great relaxing holiday location, fully equipped little cabin which is lovely and warm and thankfully a dry haven from the wet Scottish summer. Our hostess was lovely and had left tea, milk and shortbread for our arrival and made the effort of coming to see us to ensure all was ok. Highly recommend this location and cabin for those wanting to get away from it all (no phone signal and wifi a little hit and miss - just what we wanted to ensure total relaxation).

Great location for day trips all over the Highlands and Cairngorms region. Easy trips to Malaig, Oban, Ft William, Inverness, many walking trails. Beds were comfortable, and very nice hostess, Sheila. Many sheep, birds, wildlife in area. Couldn't ask for a better place for hikers or those just enjoying the scenery, or locality for day trips. Enjoyed gondola ride up Ben Nevis, which can be seen from the cabin.

I stayed here with my girlfriend over New Year's - it was a beautiful cozy lodge surrounded by some amazing scenery, and the sauna was good to have after being out in the cold! Log cabin was situated off the beaten track. Just what the doctor ordered! Fabulous location in a lovely log cabin that was set up to live in, not just holiday. Sheila is a wonderful and approachable owner and if you have any problems, she will always do her best to help. Would recommend this log cabin to anyone wishing to get off the beaten track. Great for exploring, Fort William, Fort Augustus (Loch Ness) and Ben Nevis. Home from home and can't wait to go back. Did not want to leave!!!

Me and my wife stayed at this log cabin for a week. Can't fault anything,great location,very clean and tidy with nice fresh new linen and towels. Brilliant sauna. Lodge was well equipped with everything needed for a great comfortable stay. If you have kids even better they have board games,jigsaws,outdoor games,kids DVDs etc. Satellite Tv,WiFi,radio.
