Inveroich has been a much loved family home for over sixty years and the present owners would like to share it with like minded, caring couples and small parties who would appreciate its charm, character and quality.

The property is situated in a unique and prime location at the head of Loch Ness. It enjoys uninterrupted and breathtaking views, being situated beside Loch Ness, the Caledonian Canal and the River Oich. Steeped in history, Inveroich was built as the Barrack Master's House for the old fort and is reputed to be the oldest house in Fort Augustus. A pre 1770 plan, reveals that this cottage was 'a keeping place for the malt', for the adjoining Brew House.

At the end of a no-through road, the house is within easy walking distance of Fort Augustus and all local amenities. There are pubs and tea shops, a park, tennis courts and a huge choice of walks through forestry land, along the canal tow path or up in the hills. Loch and river fishing are readily available, together with boat and fishing trips on Loch Ness.

Inveroich is decorated and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. The rooms are all light, airy and spacious and both bedrooms, the kitchen and the sitting room all boast uninterrupted views of the garden, looking across to the historical Fort Augustus Abbey.
The house sits within a large, very private and well kept walled garden.
There is ample private parking within the grounds of the property.
With storage and convector heating and secondary/double glazing, the Malt House is a cosy, warm and welcoming place to stay.

There are feature fireplaces in the double bedroom, kitchen and sitting room and all the rooms are well proportioned. The kitchen is well equipped, with a good quantity of china and glass, cutlery and cooking utensils.

The rooms are well proportioned with central heating or storage heaters as well as original feature fireplaces.

All cleaning materials are provided as well as hand soap, tissues and toilet rolls.

• The sitting room - with feature fireplace, comfortable furniture, TV and DVD player. View of garden.

An outstanding property in an idyllic setting on the Caledonian Canal. Amanda and Peter were superb hosts in every respect, from introduction to the accommodation to suggestions for trips and facilities in Fort Augustus and chatting in the lovely garden as we came and went. Thank you both very much for hosting ourselves and our two Beagles! It was a trip to remember and we would not hesitate to return!

Delightful cottageIt was like staying in someone's home, really cosy and comfortable, and a great location, with water on three sides, at the end of a no-through road. Just a short walk into Fort Augustus, a village with all the facilities you need. Peter and Amanda were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Days out are possible in all directions, so plenty to see and do. We had great three weeks, and would love to return for another visit.

We were very warmly welcomed in the cottage by Amanda and Peter, who gave us very clear and helpful information about the place itself and the surroundings. They made us feel very much at home straight away. We read the previous comments from other guests to figure out what to do for the few days we were staying in Fort Augustus, and followed Amanda and Peter’s advice on places to eat or to visit. The cottage is very cosy and warm, we felt at home and could very much have stayed here another three weeks, if we could have! Thank you again for letting us live, even for only a few days, in a very special place.
