About this house rental
Enjoy an expansive view of the lake while perched above the waters of Lake D'Arbonne, just a stone's throw from the state park! With a large screened-in porch, multiple outdoor sitting areas, two-slip boathouse (with deck and fish-cleaning station), gas grill (propane tank), and wood-burning fireplace, this property has everything you need for an enjoyable retreat. There is a community boat ramp at the end of the road, making it the perfect destination for boaters and fishermen. Note: We just replaced the boat straps in the larger boat slip with a "cradle" lift that can handle both fishing boats and pontoons up to 8500 lbs.
The house itself has two units (with separate entrances). The upstairs unit has 2 bedrooms and 2 baths, with a large kitchen and living area. The downstairs unit has a small kitchen, bath, and a large living/sleeping area complete with a futon (full-size bed) and 3 twin beds. Both units have a television and DVD player. A backup generator services both upstairs and down, so you will never be without power! A tankless water heater ensures there is enough hot water for everyone. This spot is for people who want to get away from it all. There is no cable, but local broadcast channels are available via an antenna, as well as Roku streaming. Wifi (2G/5G) is available via HughesNet satellite internet which can sometimes be slow. A hotspot is recommended if fast internet service is crucial. Check-in time is 4 PM, and check-out time is 11 AM.
NOTE: The larger upstairs unit is only accessible via a few stairs, possibly not accommodating for those with severe mobility issues.

This property was immaculate, comfortably decorated and perfect for our mini family reunion. We all voted it the “BEST” of all the places we’ve gone over the last 15 years.The owners responded quickly to our questions and requests; they even followed up once we arrived to be sure everything was in order. We are hoping we can all make it back here in the near future.

This lake house was the best we've stayed at on Darbonne lake so far and we stay on the lake twice a year. The boat house with a roof, outlets for charging boat, fish cleaning station, and boat lift was really handy. The house had a kitchen upstairs and downstairs which having a couple of teenagers on the trip it's like they had their own place, but also we were able to keep an eye on them. The views were awesome to say the least. Definitely will rent it again if available.

The first day the refrigerator went out Cathy andJohn were very sweet in trying to get it fixed. It started running the next day. The neighborhood was quiet. The house was roomy enough for our group. The house could have been cleaner. The floors weren’t mopped. The screen room wasn’t even swept very nasty. Didn’t leave a broom out so we could even clean ourselves. The outside patio furniture hadn’t been cleaned in a long time. The bathroom shower/tub wasn’t very clean lots of soap scum in master bathroom. The hallway bathroom the shower was definitely not cleaned. Around the bottom edge very nasty. Spiderweb behind the bathroom door. The toilet looked new but wasn’t bolted down rocked and wiggled when in use very apparent it was loose. The showers are very small. Had few lights that were in need of new bulbs. The dryer was disgusting had hair in the tub of the dryer along with dirt from previous renters took 4 Clorox wipes to clean before able to use. Very few washcloths for each bathroom. Beds upstairs were in bad need of replacement very uncomfortable. The kitchen pots and pans were also in bad need of cleaning most looked like black smut on them. We were charged a cleaning fee but it wasn’t clean when we arrived.
