The Building was constructed in 1635 and only that fact makes it an experience. My room was on the upper floor. I liked the room. The floor was uneven. Everything is decorated in a nice and functional way. Breakfast is served at the table and it was good.

Nothing!

Nix

It faces the inner harbour and it's only a short walk to most places, so location is fairly good. There's a sheltered smoking area out the back.

There's a premium on this place and I had assumed it was down to a heritage building carefully restored with modern interior - you know the sort of thing. Unfortunately it's somewhat overdone so there's very little sense of the history of the building. The ground level room offers a lovely view of the harbour, but of course if you have the blinds up to enjoy that view, you have passers-by enjoy the view of what's happening in the room - so effectively there's no view at all. I understand getting a heritage building up to scratch requires significant investment, but having the lights come on and running water when you open the tap does not in itself justify the premium. I suspect the upstairs rooms represent much better value but I for one won't be back to find out.
