Villa Luxe

The host met us in the local village after an easy drive from the airport and we followed him up to the property. He showed us around and explained all the facilities. The villa is very well appointed with good air conditioning, a well equipped kitchen and comfortable bedrooms. The showers are a real bonus with excellent water pressure. Everything was spotlessly clean and the welcome pack was an extra treat. The pool area is very attractive with a good range of seating and plenty of shady areas. The villa has great views of Sivota Bay and is in a very very private and quiet area - a great place to unwind and relax. There is another villa next door but you cannot see it from Villa Luxe and due to its orientation, there is very little transfer of noise. You are very much cheek by jowl with nature so lots of crickets and some big ol' spiders around but these didn't bother us and the door screens did a good job of keeping them on the outside. Midway through our stay, the cleaners came in to change the beds and towels and to clean the pool and villa generally. The host was very pleasant, easy to contact and dealt with any queries very quickly.

The only real downside (and the only reason it is not given a 10) is the drive up to the villa which has been mentioned in other reviews - it's not far from Sivota (a really lovely place with a good selection of restaurants and 2/3 supermarkets) but it's not really within walking distance and the track to the villa from the main road is very rough in parts, has a couple of tight bends and is only partially paved. Moreover, some of the paved sections have been laid quite proud of the track, necessitating some careful driving to preserve tyres. Due to the ongoing building works in the area (which are not visible from the villa itself and cause very little disturbance in terms of noise) we often encountered large trucks and construction machinery when negotiating the drive, which could be a little hairy - although they are clearly used to dealing with nervous tourists! We appreciate that little can be done to change this and we were made aware of the challenging drive at the time of booking. It's not impossible and perfectly safe - just a bit uncomfortable - and hopefully, in time, all of the paved sections will all be joined up.

The villa was adequate for our stay size wise. The views were fantastic and to watch the yachts coming and going and the Greek islands around pretty spectacular… We felt the showers & shower heads could be deep cleaned and the kitchen appliances cleaned. Replacement tea towels on cleaning day. The villa was for 6 people. We were only 4 so they catered for 4 with towels etc.

Now where did it state that a car was essential for this villa. If we had known this we wouldn’t have booked this villa as the original road is quite scary to drive.. towards the end of our stay the new bit of road was opened so that did help.

Es hat uns einfach alles gefallen. Die Unterkunft ist traumhaft schön. Vor allem der Außenbereich mit dem Blick auf die Berge und das Meer. Der Vermieter was sehr hilfsbereit und zuvorkommende. Die Betten waren sehr bequem und die Küche war mit allem ausgestattet, was wir vier für unseren Aufenthalt brauchten. Eigentlich wollten wir etwas mehr von der Insel sehen, aber wir konnten uns schwer von dem Pool etc. trennen. 🤩

Nichts

This is one of those places where you really need to visit again. The location is incredible, with fantastic views over the golf below. The villa is stocked with everything you need, and our host was very helpful with advice on what to do and where to go.

The road to the villa is a bit tricky, but you get used to it after a day.
