First the location, which for us was an ideal balance. The property is located about 1km from Cecina which is a busy vibrant town and from there another 10 mins (by car) onto the seaside at Cecina Mare. It's also a good location to not only explore other coastal towns but to head inland to some of the hill towns too. The house itself is on a small private road in what is a pretty rural area just outside the town. So it pulls off the trick of feeling very tranquil and relaxing whilst still being very close to all the necessary amenities. For us this was the best of both worlds.The property itself is excellent. Well furnished, equipped and maintained throughout. Things like the well maintained screens on the windows made it easy to keep the house cool and comfortable. The star is the adjoining loggia/ terrace. It's very well laid out and practical with two doors opening to it. Good for sun lovers and shade seekers alike. It's very usable and inviting with the pretty garden that surrounds it.So the house can be used both as a base for touring the area or for the days or time where you feel less energetic simply as a lovely place to relax. Finally the host Letizia has got the balance just right. She was friendly, accessible, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Her mum also makes excellent apricot jam too :-)A fantastic, excellent value property that we are really happy we booked.

Letizia has a wonderful house and everything you need is provided. You can see that it is set up by heart. The garden is a perfect place to relax and restaurants as well as supermarkets are nearby. If you'd like to explore the area and surrounding cities it's a perfect start point. Everything is around a one to two hour drive (Pisa, Florence, Siena etc).
