Cozy Apartment across the San Juan Airport

We were warmly greeted by our hostess upon arrival. She enthusiastically showed us around the apartment explaining where more clean linens were kept, how the TV worked, how the AC and fans worked, and how we were welcome to the beverages in the refrigerator. She told us about dining options within an easy walk from the property including a popular local barbecue place and a spotless McDonald's. There is a bedroom, sitting room with a TV, large kitchen, and bathroom. There is a lovely, private garden sitting area outdoors with a small table and chairs. The thing to note is that although the property is literally across the street from the airport, it is inaccessible because the "street" is a major freeway with no way to cross. A ten minute taxi ride is necessary to reach the apartment. The cost in 2026 is $17. We stayed at the apartment both at arrival and departure and both times were wonderful. We had to leave at 2:30 in the morning our last "morning " and, having difficulty nailing down a taxi, the hostess graciously offered to take us to the airport! She said she would do it " for free" but of course we paid her for her unbelievable help and kindness.

Nothing could have been better about the property or hostess. A few over the highway ramps directly connecting the airport to the Carolina area would be nice! The congestion and confusing signage and cloverleafs around the airport are pretty daunting whether in a taxi or rental car.
