Antares150m from the Lake - Happy Rentals

First, it was a lovely, large, old fashioned apartment with great mountain views and a slight view of the lake with the biggest terrace we've ever seen. Gorgeous. The place was large with a good kitchen, dining and living room and three bedrooms. It was wonderful to sit on the balcony in the mornings over breakfast and at night before and after going out to dinner. There was little noise from the neighborhood and cool breezes helped with the lack of A/C. The fans in the rooms also worked great to cool us down. Overall, a very nice place with some unfortunate things that could be corrected.

There were several things that could have been done much better. First, the smallest bathroom has a shower with zero place to put soap, shampoo, etc. and the doors do not close completely, making it very hard to shower without getting your hair wet as well as the floor. There is no place to put toiletries on the small ledge over the sink. A small table with drawers could help store a few items. Second, the beds were very hard as were the pillows. I did not sleep well there though I liked the room and ambience. Third, we picked this apartment for the balcony/terrace, 2 full baths but certainly to be able to use a washing machine. However, try as we might, we could not get the door closed to even start the washer and calling customer service was not helpful. No one solved the problem, and just to get on with the day, we gave up washing our clothes. Not great on a three-week trip where you expect to wash clothes so a big disappointment. Fourth, the office to pick up the keys is difficult to reach through a maze-like series of one-way streets that our experienced private driver had difficulty finding. We asked if we could leave the keys in the apartment upon check-out and the check-in guy said yes before we even got into the place, BUT the last email instruction we had said no, we had to deliver them to the office and there was an indication there could be a charge if we did not. The distance between that office and the apartment is quite a long way and certainly not something that you could do with luggage. Our second outgoing private driver had a very hard time finding the office so to save time, I actually left the driver with my friend and literally ran the three blocks to the office since the one-way streets were pretty impossible to pass. Suggestion: Let people leave the keys in the apartment - too far and complicated and puts a rather bad finish to a nice stay.

The views were great and we loved sitting on the balcony in the evenings and during the day under the awning. Nicely decorated inside and clean overall. The beds were fine and were all nicely made. The lift was great for moving suitcases and the building overall seemed nice. Instructions for key pick up and drop off was helpful.

Despite it being a lovely place, the shower and air conditioning was terrible. The shower would never stay a constant temperature and was either scolding hot or freezing cold and very slippy inside. Didn’t have a nice shower all week during the stay. And we all had bad sleeps due to how hot it was indoors. There were fans but it really wasn’t enough to keep us cool during the night. Apart from this the stay was lovely, but these were quite major issues for everyone.

All electrical appliances in the house are extremely old. Bath area floors are slippery in both the bathrooms. Water temperature in shower was swinging between hot and cold every few seconds. The property management team tried to do a good job and maintained cleanliness including good upholstery etc. Place is nice and big with great terrace but the comfort factors are really lacking here. The owner really needs to invest in upgrading to enhance experience and comfort.
