Old Town - Vene Apartment

Zeer ruim appartement midden in de oude stad met de belangrijkste bezienswaardigheden op loopafstand. Leuk balkonnetje en bubbelbad.

De host reageerde in het begin niet snel en dacht niet erg mee over vroegere check-in of alvast bagage neerleggen (terwijl dat natuurlijk prima kan ook als de schoonmaak nog bezig is). De kraan in de badkamer boven deed het niet, klacht hierover werd in 1e instantie niet serieus genomen, na wat boze correspondentie is dit wel binnen 1 dag verholpen. De magnetron doet het niet, dit werd niet verholpen. Keukeninventarisatie is krap als je zelf wil koken. Sommige matrassen zijn erg hard, anderen erg zacht, gelukkig waren er meerdere om uit te kiezen als je maar met 3p bent.

The house is in a very central location and is nicely decorated, but it's very poorly maintained. The shower door in the downstairs bathroom is broken and hanging off, the sink faucet leaks from the bottom, the upstairs bathroom smells bad the drain must be clogged and bathtub doesn't have hot water, and the semicircular windows in the upstairs bedrooms can't be opened, which can be a problem in summer. The microwave in the kitchen doesn't work, and the refrigerator is in poor condition and doesn't cool properly. The cleaning lady is very unsympathetic and unfriendly.

Yläkerran suihkuun ei tullut lämmintä vettä. Keittiön mikro ei toiminut. Talouspaperia eikä pöytäpyyhettä löytynyt. Kahvinkeitintä ei ollut.

Plenty of space. Balcony was nice, especially with summer mornings. Mostly well cleaned apartment, but jacuzzi wasn't wiped clean and there was oily dust on top of kitchen cabinets. Gas stove worked well. There were enough dishes, although limited collection. The manager was quick to answer any questions. For example, the living room heater thermostat was broken and it was hot and as I asked about it they instructed how to switch the heating off. Location was good, with excellent restaurant and café within 100 meters.

Many items in the apartment are little wobbly (railings, stairs, cabinet doors), broken (microwave, shower wall, cd player, some lights) or in need of repairing (balcony, doors and windows). Upper bathroom shower produces only lukewarm water (during summer). Upper floor can get hot but some windows do open and adjustments can be done. The description says coffee machine but it is instant coffee with water kettle (I brought my own espresso moka kettle with me and it worked well). There were no instructions for different machines and procedures, although that didn't bother me. However, we had everything we needed for our trip so these things didn't prevent us from enjoying the place this time.
