New house with canal view in Cape Coral

A very nice house with a very beautiful view. Very comfortable for a family with 2 children. A very smooth, friendly and prompt communication with an owner Catalina.

Das Haus liegt in einer sehr ruhigen Gegend. Sehr angenehm war das Türcode Schloss. Besonders gefallen hat mir die sehr geräumige Dusche im Master Bad. Insgesamt habe ich das Haus sehr sauber angetroffen. Die Kommunikation mit den Eigentümern lief Problemlos über's Telefon.

Das Haus war etwas "spartanisch" ausgestattet. Da meine Frau kurzfristig nicht mitkommen konnte war das kein großes Problem. Jedoch, die Ausstattung mit Kochutensilien, Teller & Gläser war etwas mager. Die Spülmaschine konnte ich garnicht nutzen, da ich nach jeder Mahlzeit gleich von Hand Geschirr spülen musste. Leider war auch der Vorratsraum nicht verfügbar, sodass ich alle Lebensmittel, Getränke und sonstige Einkäufe in der Küche lagern musste. Der Grill auf der Terasse ist stark in die Jahre gekommen (verrosted), sodass ich ihn nicht nutzen wollte.

The location was excellent as the property was located in a typical neighborhood; it was quiet and we felt secure.

The master bed was a king however the mattress was soft and a bit lumpy. We experienced ants in the bathroom and the kitchen but bought ant traps and the problem was quickly resolved.

Bedrooms were large and each had a TV which was nice. Common area furniture was in great condition (TV, couches, dining table, barstools around kitchen island). Lanai was a nice option but it was too hot to be outside so we also did not use the BBQ. Common areas were large to accommodate our big group, and it was easy getting into and leaving the property.

Floors throughout the house were dusty. One bedroom bedding was also dusty (likely because it hadn't been used in a while). We tried to use the vacuum but it smelled moldy and the inside air filter must have been wet for a long time because it was also covered in mold. We had to use a broom to do most the cleaning. They did not disclose they were building a pool until after booking. This means the backyard was under construction and made walking to the canal challenging and not very pretty. It also means we tracking in a lot of sand into the house which was difficult to maintain since the vacuum was not working. The first morning, there was a construction crew on site with large construction machinery creating a lot of noise while working on the pool. This was very upsetting to our young children who were also adjusting to the time difference. We were also very disappointed to see the lack of amenities and supplies. Usually vacation rentals have a well stocked spice cabinet (at a minimum) and there was little more than salt and pepper. We had to buy our own cooking oil, etc. The bathrooms also had no products aside from a small pre-packaged soap bar. Again, almost all of our vacation rental experience has had bathrooms with a bare minimum of shampoo, conditioner, etc. The towels in the linen closet also smelled musty so we had to wash them before using. The primary bedroom also has a large window high above the bed which lets in a lot of light. If you like darkness or want to sleep in, I suggest you use pillows to block this window before you go to bed.
