About this house rental
This designer waterfront cottage is newly built (2022) on the Hope River in a beautiful and serene 1.5 acre setting of rolling countryside - very private, yet conveniently located between Stanley Bridge and Cavendish. It’s just a 10 minute drive to the gorgeous Cavendish beaches (so you’re close to the ocean) and you can enjoy beautiful views of the sand dunes from the waterside outlook deck and bonfire pit area.
Hope River has 4 bedrooms (2 king bedrooms and 2 bedrooms with two twin beds each), two full bathrooms and it sleeps 8. *A photo of the main floor twin bedroom will be added in the spring.
As you enter the spacious foyer your view is directly through to the water. From there…the kitchen, dining and living areas are to the right, while the bedroom and bathroom wing is to the left. The spiral stairs that lead to the loft bedroom are also in the foyer.
The air conditioned kitchen-dining-living area is a spacious and bright open-concept design with a wall of windows & doors that overlook the water and lead to the large deck and 7-person hot tub. The kitchen/dining space is very well equipped and has a large island, a pantry closet for lots of food storage and a beautiful harvest table overlooking the water. The living room provides comfortable furnishings, a propane fireplace, large TV and picturesque views all around.
You’ll find the master bedroom at the front of the cottage, overlooking the water. It has a king bed, a full en-suite, seating area and access to the front deck. The second king bedroom has a window seat that overlooks the water and a large TV. The third bedroom on the main floor has custom twin bunks and a large TV. This wing is complete with a second full bathroom (including two vanities) and a full laundry area. A spiral staircase leads to the loft and fourth bedroom with two twin beds, lots of light through four windows and a TV. The loft also has water views.
A custom bonfire pit and viewing deck are situated just off the front yard along the waterside bluff.
The cottage is complete with air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen, a full-size washer and dryer, wifi, satellite, smart TV’s, bed linens, towels, beach towels, beach chairs, a propane BBQ, a bonfire pit and hot tub.

We took a girls trip with my mom, sister, and tween daughter. This listing was beautiful in pictures and it did not disappoint in person!! Though it was a more remote location (don’t be surprised by the long dirt road), the interior looked like something out of a home magazine. Everything was new, clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The TV/internet wasn’t working very well but we had plenty to do and it didn’t affect our stay. The hosts did come by promptly and try to fix it and were planning to make adjustments after we left. Our beds were comfy, the towels were plentiful, and the hot tub was lovely on a cool spring evening. We would stay here again in a heartbeat!! We visited Cavendish Beach as well as the Green Gables Heritage Site - both very reasonably nearby. We loved the PEI Preserve Company - don’t miss their delicious breakfast and a walk in their gardens!One note if you’re coming with kiddos - they will be delighted by the little loft area but the tiny staircase is a bit daunting and might be better managed by older kids, especially if they’re going to need the bathroom in the night! :) If you're reading this review because you’re thinking of booking here - DO IT! You’ll feel like you’re in a luxurious, quiet, beautiful retreat.

The property was special, especially on the inside. Great furnishings; great kitchen; great bedroom sizes. Plenty of overall room and comfortable furniture and beds.

The property is very modern and meticulously kept, with all the amenities you could ask for. It is located just a stone's throw from Cavendish and its beaches and several of the Island's top golf courses. Halfway between Charlottetown and Summerside, enjoying activities across the island was easy.
