Second home!

I loved my two stays there for a total of 2 months!! I've stayed in the private room with fan and it was a little warm. In the one with airco it was perfect like that! Most of the time I stayed in my bed n8 in the dorm with airco! I loved that! Comfy, the airco on only in the night is just perfect! Dark curtains for every bed that seems to be in the dark room! Still, bring earplugs! (No light for every single bed, but socket yes!) It's small and not really window but I just slept in the room! If you ask they give towels. Kitchen well furnished, free coffee in the morning, blender, kettle. Just one shower but it wasn't a problem, "ofc" there is not hot water, but you don't need it! The outside area is big, couple of parking spots, gym area, yoga, many tables where to sit, in the shadows or not, BBQ, sofa where we spent all our nights playing board games, talking and meeting many great people!! Andrés and Chiara are super nice, friendly and helpful for any kind of advice! Lupita is super!!! Really old cat but so sweet! She just wants food! Little grocery shop just outside the hostel. Perfect location, 3 min from the beach and 10min from the center. The Camioneta to Puerto Angel/Pochutla pass in front of the hostel, the one from Mazunte is a 10min walk. 5 min from the colectivo that brings you to Oaxaca.

A Hidden Gem Near the Beach

It’s a hostel that has everything you’re looking for: a 5-minute walk to the beach, a practical kitchen, a comfortable bed, a quiet and cool dorm, and even a gym in the garden. I came for 3 days, but it looks like I’ll be staying for a month.

Amazing staff, chill vibe, perfect for a nice experience in Zipolite!

Very pretty hostel with a social vibe, 2 mins walking to the beach and right by the main street with stores, artisanos etc. Super friendly owner Ana, who was very caring and even gave me fruit with honey & turned on the AC for me when I was feeling sick ❤️ she also helped us solve an issue because we mistakenly booked too many nights, and she made sure we get our money back. Also amazing volunteer staff, Darsham and Lilly made us feel so welcome. Highly recommend this hostel!

Simple hostel in a great location.

The location is great. There is good outdoor space to work from or just hang out.

The washroom facilities were limited, one shower wasn't functional. The hostel is an outdoor area with one room in the back with 10 beds in it, there is no reception or anything. There wasn't much to separate any walker-by to come into the hostel and right into the bedroom.

Really super lovely place to stay! Recommended!

Hostal Maracuyá - Coworking Space is a great place to stay in Zipolite! It's totally worth it for the price. The co-working space is so lovely and the internet is stellar. For any digital nomads or people who need to work or need excellent, stable WiFi, the Starlink here is absolutely fantastic. I never had a problem with it. The location is amazing - super close to the beach and the main street with all sorts of shops and restaurants. The staff is helpful and friendly and I bonded with several of them and they were so helpful in supporting me in learning Spanish! The kitchen has everything you need to cook and store your food. The bathrooms and bed sheets were nice and clean. And they have laundry service that gets done in 24 hours. I fully recommend this hostel in Zipolite! It has a great vibe!

I slept on 2 different beds in the dormitory, one was fine, but the 2nd one I moved to was super flat in the middle, so I could feel the wood underneath and it was more uncomfortable and harder to sleep. Though things were mostly clean, the dorms could use a nice deep clean - the little shelves in them were dirty and under the bed was dirty and had old stuff under them.

Cost Effective And Close-In

Great location far enough away from the noise but close enough to access everything within an easy walk. Staff are friendly, place has a cool aesthetic, and WiFi is provided. Lockers are spacious enough to keep standard carry-on luggage and more. This is a great place for those looking to immerse themselves in the vibrant life of Zipolite but need a cost effective refuge to recharge.

It is a hostel, so don't expect to be very comfortable at night. The dorm is clean, but people coming in and out and opening their lockers late at night or early in the morning can disrupt sleep.

Good Wifi -- Close to Beach... COME TO ZIPOLITE!

Zipolite is one of my favorite places I have ever been. Such a queer little beach town-- loved it! I needed to work during the week, and the hostel did the job. You walk out the front door and you're steps away from the main street.

They were doing construction during the day that was super noisy. I appreciate the efforts to improve the location, but coworking is difficult with electric saws and hammers next to you.

Staff is really kind Chiara, Justin & Andrés were amazing! They were up to help at all times.

There was a water shortage two days on my week stay but they solved it as fast as they could.

No running water, which meant no shower, no toilets and no kitchen. Dirty everywhere and beds were horrible. Staff didn’t really make you feel welcome at all….

Great low cost place with AC

Loved the great AC in the dorm, and the privacy curtains and lockers. The dorm looks amazing because the "nightlight " (before you turn on the regular room light) is a black light. It makes the nice paintings on the wall glow! I thought it was very clever. The 2 hammocks were nice.

It could use more comfy chairs and places to hang out. If the 2 hammocks were in use, the wooden benches just weren't that comfy. But fine if you're working on your laptop I guess.

Friendly atmosphere, great location!

I loved my stay here. I was here for 8 days and had a really positive experience. All of the staff are so wonderful, accommodating, friendly and helpful. It’s definitely a little rustic, but so are most hostels! Super great location. Zipolite is amazing. Highly recommend. Also the dorms are super dark so great for sleeping. Lots of space for stuff.

Property is extremely poorly maintained the kitchen was never clean and the en-suite bathroom was disgusting and did not have hooks or anything to hang toiletries. Too many mosquitos because they refuse to properly clean the place. The women who run it are very lazy and instead wait for the cleaner

Good location and nice staff but needs more secure bathrooms

Great location and staff were very friendly.

Only one bathroom for entire property and the toilet door did not lock securely (there is a hoop lock that is easily pushed open) - 5 people walked in on me within 2 minutes. It’s incredibly intrusive and not okay to not have a functioning lock and for others to walk in constantly. It happened every time I used the toilet. Others complained about the same issue. The outdoor toilet also had a big cut out window in the door so also isn’t comfortable to use. Also the inside toilet door doesn’t have a door handle so it slams shut every time someone uses it - incredibly annoying when you have the bed next to the bathroom. Especially as there is only one bathroom so everyone is constantly using it from 6am-10am and every evening. There needs to be more bathrooms and ones that are actually private! Multiple people complained about the same thing and I didn’t feel comfortable staying more than one night. Also needs more mirrors in the property - there are only 2 and it forces people to use the one bathroom more and causes more people to walk in on one another and creates queues. You can’t use your own mirror either as the dorm has no natural light so you would have to use your phone torch.

Wow, Incredible! The place is so nice and chill, the guest are super relax and friendly, people from all world. Ms. Ana (Manager) is very attentive and kind. An important point is that the sleeping area have A/C, mostly Zipolite is very hot. The beach is very close.

The location was perfect, the owners were very helpful and uncomplicated.

Please a mirror and also a window with daylight in the room + air condition or something during the night it was stuffy. Also, that the kitchen can be used would be a big plus and aswell a little ambiente for the bathroom (renew the floor etc.)

Stealing Staff - be careful people

It's very basic, but for a quick stop it didn't seem too bad and was also clean and cheap for the area. If you ask, you get a free towel, beds were ok comfortable, strong wifi.

There is only one shower + toilet in the room for everyone to use and no lights in the rooms (for whatever reason). The locker was broken and hard to use. That's why I had my wash bag + make up bag (unfortunately with jewelry inside) in my bunk bed. On my check out day my bed was cleared and my belongings taken away before the actual check out time. Only when I asked for my stuff, I was handed my wash bag and the other bag was stolen. The cleaning lady denied that she took anything while smiling in my face. Management didn't honestly care. So be careful people. Stealing staff!!!
