Absolutely fabulous villa. We stayed there for 12 days with a 2yo old. The location is perfect as it's quite central, so you can explore Chania, Rethymno, Heraklion and large parts of the southern coast. There is a beach 10 minutes away by foot through an underpass and a small town with restaurants, cafes and small shops.
The host and his family are truly exceptional and inviting. I had a couple of requests which were resolved promptly, even at 11pm. They also own a taverna nearby which has great food and a playground. That was a lifesaver with a kid.
The villa itself is amazing. Everything works perfectly(aircon, pool, wifi etc), there is an automatic gate and a wall around the villa so it's safe if travelling with kids, it has a well-stocked kitchen if you don't fancy going out on a particular day. It goes without saying that it was cleaned regularly too.
Some reviews mentioned that it's close to a main road which it is but it didn't bother me at all. I found that even beneficial given that the villa sits just outside the town and it might've been too quiet otherwise.
Highly recommended and we'll definitely be coming back!

The Pelagias Villa is absolutely perfect for a family. It's the perfect place to relax. The family that own the Villa were so kind and inviting. we went to their restaurant in the village nearby on a few occasions to try their food. That too is somewhere you cant miss. They also offered to make and deliver breakfast. My daughter fell in love with Zina the puppy. Back to the Villa it's in a great location. You can walk to the beach via the hotel underpass. And the location central enough to explore much of northen Crete with a car. The Villa has its own secure automated gate. Air-conditioning works perfectly in every room. Well stocked kitchen with homemade Raki, honey & olive oil from the owners farm. Amazing coffee too. Nice big pool. The views of the mountains are very peaceful. It's definitely somewhere we would go back to in a heartbeat as a Base to explore and relax.
Not so much a problem for us because we like to explore but if you are not good on your feet you will need a car or you can make use of the land train that goes up and down the road to the local towns.
