The Windmill Hotel - Alford

Spacious rooms which were clean. We had 2 rooms as there was 7 of us. Both rooms the beds were comfy, loved the white bedding, all towels etc.

Didn’t have anything I didn’t like.

We liked the staff was friendly and room was spacious family room, there was a garden and bar room was comfortable would revisit

The Positives: The Staff & Atmosphere: The hotel staff were all very friendly. The bar was a definite highlight—very clean with a huge selection on the pumps. The Rooms: We booked two spaces. The standard room we booked was great. In the twin apartment, the bedrooms themselves were large, clean, and offered plenty of space. The shower and bath also had good hot water.

The Drawbacks: Parking: The car park is very small. My advice is to get there early, or you will be disappointed. Listing Accuracy & Beds: We specifically booked the twin apartment because the listing stated it had 2 double beds and 2 sofa beds. Reception informed us this was a listing error, stating that because we booked for 6 people, we technically had "enough" beds. This forced our group to share beds, which isn't what we booked. After I complained, the night staff kindly gave us a key for an extra room, but this was only for one night, meaning we had the same sleeping issue the following night. Apartment Condition: The apartment needs more effort. There were stains all over the carpet, and marks on the sofa bed that didn't make sleeping on it very inviting. Unfinished Bathroom: The apartment bathroom was very simple and felt unfinished. There were four holes in the wall where a towel rail was meant to go, leaving us absolutely nowhere to hang wet towels or clothes. General Hotel Condition: The hotel generally looks quite dated. You can hear everyone walking about because the floorboards are incredibly squeaky. The halls and reception area could also use some updating.
