Filakopi Private Pool Retreat for 6

My family and I stayed here during a very special trip to Milos, where I ended up getting engaged, so this property will always hold a special place in my heart. The house is certainly not your typical holiday rental. It's a rustic, aged Greek farmhouse full of character, privacy, and hidden corners to explore. If you enjoy properties with history and personality rather than polished modern perfection, you'll likely appreciate its charm. It felt secluded and peaceful, yet was still conveniently located near Pollonia, making it an excellent base for exploring the island. One thing we were especially grateful for was being allowed to check in early after an exhausting journey and an early flight. It meant we could rest and start enjoying our holiday immediately rather than losing a full day waiting around. The property managers were responsive, helpful, and quick to address issues during our stay. For example, when we discovered several of the air conditioning remotes needed new batteries, someone came out within a couple of hours to resolve it. Overall, this is a charming and memorable property with plenty of character. It won't be to everyone's taste—it can feel a little atmospheric at night—but for those who appreciate rustic, traditional accommodation, it offers something genuinely unique. With a few practical improvements (listed below), it could be exceptional. We genuinely hope the owners consider making these changes because, if they did, we would happily stay here again.

There are a few improvements that would make a significant difference to the guest experience. The plumbing appears to need some attention, as there were unpleasant drain odours during our stay. The Wi-Fi only worked reliably in the living room, which made it difficult to take calls privately or use the internet elsewhere in the house. Some of the plug sockets were positioned in rather inconvenient locations. And although it's a small detail, after a long day of travel it would have been nice to find water waiting in the fridge. The access road is quite rough and may not be kind to some vehicles, could definitely benefit from some improvement. Inside the house, the bathtub really needs a shower screen or curtain. Judging by previous reviews mentioning the same issue, this seems like a relatively simple upgrade that would greatly improve practicality.

Great location in the countryside outside of the towns with a great pool and the rustic cottage vibe was so fun

None of the TVs worked, the AC in the first bedroom on the right after coming up the steps did not work. Also not having a shower curtain was quite messy. The smell in the bathroom was also very overwhelming at times.

We liked a lot the location and the place was very charming and clean, the sunsets at the pool make of this House a Magic spot in Milos. Despite not being renewed, the kitchen was well equiped. We recommend it for sure. Amazing beaches and Pollonia on the surroundings.

The access by car is a bit complicated but otherwise It was fine.

It was just great! It was such a unique house. Each piece of decor is interesting, adding to the charm. The staff were very helpful and attentive, making everything easy. The privacy of the property made it even more comfortable. It’s just a 2-minute drive to a small town for essentials, and the beach is only 3-5 minutes away. I’ll definitely book it again on my next trip!
