Beautiful and relaxing place

Deep Roots Nusa Penida is a real paradise. The facilities are modern, beautiful, and thoughtfully designed with strong environmental consciousness. We were pleasantly surprised with an upgrade from a garden view to a mountain view, and the view from our balcony was absolutely stunning—even with cloudy weather most days, it was still magical. The hotel offers a wide variety of experiences, including yoga classes, diving courses, meditation, and cooking classes. We attended a yoga class, which was excellent and very well guided. My husband took a diving refresher course and mentioned that the team was extremely professional and placed a strong emphasis on safety. We also joined the cooking class, which was fantastic—fun, interactive, and delicious. On top of that, we went snorkeling and diving, and both experiences were truly amazing. What really makes this place special is the staff. Everyone was incredibly helpful, attentive, friendly, knowledgeable, and kind. Their warmth and professionalism made our stay unforgettable. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, relaxing, and adventure-filled stay in Nusa Penida

Amazing!

From all the place we stayed at in Indonesia, this was by far the most hygenic and friendly stay. All the people working there are very welcoming, they help with everything. We got a snack everynight with a bedtime story. The food was really good. The service was great. If we wanted a taxi, diving, change our stay to a day longer or a ferry ticket, they all arranged it immediately. Me and my friend did 6 Dives in total. We were guided by Luiz and Hendra, best experience. Very friendly, a lot of explanation. We felt very comfortable all of our Dives. We could do laundry as well. We got a little bit sick, because our travel scheme was very busy and we got offered free ginger tea. So sweet of them. Because it was low season our room got upgraded to mountain view without any extra costs. A very nice extra and very thoughtfull of them. I loved every person who worked there, will miss this hospitality! I would like to come back again somewhere in the future.

The location was a bit out of the city centre, but for us no problem. Since the transportation to the diving boat was arranged by the resort.

Absolute heaven on earth.

We recently stayed 5 nights at Deep Roots Dive & Yoga Resort, & what a find! All staff, amenities, room, hotel grounds, dining 10/10. Special staff to mention Wahyu & Agus, who made the most amazing coffees & cocktails. We went snorkeling & scuba diving during our stay with the Deep Roots team.. We saw mantas & turtles. Exceptional. Ridho & Lewis, our guides, were great. 🐢🤿 We will 100% be back. Counting down the days till we return. Thank-you for your warm hospitality ♥️❤️

Bali birthday trip

It was so tranquil, very relaxing. The staff were very friendly and helpful, we booked a massage in the room I had a warm stone 120 minutes and it was one of the best massages I’ve ever had. The food was tasty enjoyed the breakfast Buffett. The views from the room were amazing, we booked Mountain View.

Friendly staff but poor value for money

The hotel staff are really friendly and very helpful

This was the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our trip to Bali / Lombok, and by far the worst. We asked for an upgrade upon arrival (with an extra charge), but the room was nowhere near worth the price. There was some kind of pump or engine that made an irregular motor noise day and night (at first we thought someone was mowing the lawn). We sent some clothes to the laundry service and didn’t even think of checking the rates, as it wasn’t the first time we used this service in Indonesia: €25 (!) just to wash a few t-shirts, shorts and underwear (including one t-shirt ruined after washing, so in the end we “only” paid €12.5 for the load… thank you for the incredible commercial gesture). The food at the hotel is not great, and the property is very isolated, so without transport there’s no way to get around (the hotel doesn’t organize transfers except to the port, and it’s not cheap either).

Very restful stay

The resort was beautiful, you can do everything here, yoga, spa, dive, swimming pool! They were responsive on WhatsApp and also very accommodating. The room was lovely & clean. Food was very good too! I loved their bedtime story which came with a donut, very cute and delicious!

amazing in every way - you must stay here!

A fantastic hotel with fantastic staff and services. I couldn't have wished for more. Wonderful little touches like leaving a small parchment with an Indoniesan folklore story after turning the beds down in the evening. Great dive centre run by knowledgeable and encouraging experts who i felt really safe with.

There really is very little that could have been approved. The only thing to mention would be that my 1 day island tour was really just a taxi driver paid to take me to the main sights - this really didn;t match with the rest of the attitide and services of the hotel so if you do want to do that tour then I would check if they have aligned that tour with their expectations now (and if not then just hire your own cab or rent mopeds)

Deep Roots made me fall in love with Nusa Penida

As opposed to many of the other resorts on the island, Deep Roots fits very well into the environment. It feels private and zen in all the right ways. The staff were nothing short of incredible, and we left feeling like a part of the family. The owners were on site more often than not, and always up for a chat. We went diving with Deep Roots as well, which felt safe and authentic, and we could tell that the instructors valued the environment in a way that many do not. They also organized a day trip around the island for us. Regardless of what we wanted or needed, a solution was found. Everything you will need in a stay on Nusa Penida, you will get at Deep Roots. Beautiful!

The resort is truly incredible. Everywhere looks so beautiful, the rooms are very modern. Everything was clean, you could see the ocean from the pool, and every single member of staff was incredibly friendly. We also enjoyed the breakfast, and our dinner there was also very good. The diving school was also particularly special for us. All the diving instructors are very friendly and made every effort to ensure we had the best experience. The concept of having a diving school right on site really makes sense. We went on a snorkeling trip and went scuba diving – both highly recommended! A stay here is worthwhile; we wish we could have stayed longer.

A perfect relaxed stay in Nusa Penida (wich is so worth it not to only come for a daytrip)

Everything was just perfect! The staff was incredible - so friendly, kind and just so engaged to fulfill all our wishes! The hotel itself is beautiful, quiet, the view is so nice and you can just relax so much. We also ate very good food in their Restaurant and the Menu is very divers. We also loved, that they took care of everything (Ride with the boot, massages, day trips) and everything was just perfect organized and we really enjoyed it! So thank you so much, dear Deep Roots Team, for that incredible stay at yours ♥️!

A place to come back again

Staff is incredibly kind and helpful to make you have an amazing time, so all credits to them. Bungalows have everything you need and even more. Pool is great to relax at. Breakfast and drinks options were great as well. You almost dont really need to leave the resort because they offer/organize plenty of activities for the guests, like cooking classes, yoga, theme nights and of course they have their own diving school.

Perhaps some of the food options for dinner were slightly flat taste wise (we ate all nights at the resort). The BBQ night could have some improvement portion and taste wise.

Superb spot, definitely worth it!

The team working there and the owners are fantastic people. Everything is beautiful. The yoga classes are superb and the food is amazing. This was the best stay we had in Bali and maybe anywhere. Really would like to go back.

High standard stay with world class offering

Exceptionally well fitted, great staff and world level high quality standard, clearly setting it apart from other Bali facilities. I also made use of the Deep Roots Dive Center and wonderful massage offerings. Really great place to be and relax at high standard. The dive center has super nice managers and instructors and I even got my diving certification, even if I did not plan on getting it. But they were so nice and the whole resort felt so good that I went for it!

The road to the property was not that good. Common issue on the island and in Bali.

Nice facilities, not the best staff

The facilities are great. The room was super clean everyday. The view was amazing. I loved it! Swimming pool is more than enough. Nice place to chill if you’re tired of walking and traveling around the island.

There is one thing that I have to mention. I traveled whole my life around the world. I’ve been to many different countries, stayed at lots of hotels. To me the most important thing when I’m at a hotel is to feel as a “guest”, and not as a “client”. Of course I pay to stay there. It is a business. But accommodation business is not only about taking your money and giving you a bed. Unfortunately this place made me feel like just a client who pays money. I’ll give an example that disappointed me and my wife a lot. We completed the check out process, went out to see one more beach. When we got back we asked the reception to call a driver to go to the harbour. While waiting for the driver, we went to the restaurant and asked the receptionist to let us know once the driver is there. One of the waitresses came to us and asked us if we would like to get our afternoon tea because it was afternoon tea time at the hotel. We were not thinking of asking for tea or something, but as she offered, we thought she was being nice and said yes to the tea. She went back to the bar. And probably her colleague told her that we already checked out. She came back to us and said, “sorry you checked out, you can’t get afternoon tea anymore”. There is no problem whether we drink tea or not. But you offered it already, this is exactly what is called “hospitality”. This is very sad for such a hotel. If you give me one more tea which I didn’t even ask for but you offered, how much are you going to lose? Maybe 1 euro? Unfortunately they have no clue about having a guest. We felt like “wow, we paid the money, they took our money and once our time is over, we are just no one for them”. This is not what Nusa Penida is about. We felt peace, nature, serenity in this cute island. This is not the right place to bargain for a cup of tea… sometimes small things show the big fact behind artificial smiles…

Amazing, relaxing, clean and comfortable place to stay.

Everything! The resort, staff and management were amazing. We wanted a place to relax and lounge at after traveling around Bali for two weeks, which the resort met. Our rooms were comfortable, clean and when we needed resupplies for our coffees or towels, we received them within minutes, the service was amazing! We also appreciated the attention to detail the resort offered visually and thoughtfully to make you feel at home with privacy but also making you feel pampered at the same time. A typical day would be waking up and doing Yoga before breakfast at the beautiful, lively restaurant. Followed by either a diving lesson or a tour around the island which was easily organized by the resort. The afternoon was spent lounging by the pool, reading a book, relaxing or playing in the pool with the kids. Finishing the day off with a tasty meal at the restaurant.

Lovely play to stay, we enjoyed our room so much, very big and comfortable, super clean. The environment of the hotel is beautiful as well, staff is great, food is really good as well, we had massages, attended meditation, all those activities were high quality.

The entire team was adorable, very friendly and helpful, always providing fantastic services with the greatest smiles! The view from our room and the restaurant & swimming pool, overlooking the forest and Mount Agung, was wonderful. We loved listening to the sounds of nature. And we also very much enjoyed the massages and yoga sessions too. Thank you for making our stay fabulous!

Beautiful place to stay with wonderful staff team

We loved our stay at Deep Roots! From the beautiful, tasteful decor throughout the resort - rooms and wider facilities - to the incredible view, this was a special place to be. We were staying here primarily to relax and ate at the restaurant for breakfast and dinner - really great, fresh and healthy food. The breakfast was especially super with extensive options. We loved the tranquillity of the place: peaceful and a little haven. We really enjoyed the inclusive daily yoga classes and thought the yoga instructor was one of the best that we have experienced during our travels in this part of the world. What made our stay really special, though, was the staff. Everyone is just wonderful! So kind, friendly and thoughtful. We felt genuinely welcomed and think they make Deep Roots somewhere worth visiting.

Magical Place

This place is perfect for relaxing, joining a Yoga morning or evening class. The food is perfect (also for vegetarians), the apartments are clean, pool area is amazing. Also a good place for remote work as the wifi is really good and constant available. We extended our stay after one night. Highly recommended :).

Anniversary in the ocean.

We planned a dive trip to Nusa Penida (NP), commemorating our 10th wedding anniversary together with an Indonesian friend of ours. Nusa Penida''s reputation preceded itself and so we set about looking for a resort / accommodation that incorporated a dive centre, great facilities, a yoga / meditation option, flexible dining options and of course a location that captured the scenic magic of NP. That's exactly what we got at Deep Roots ..... Dive Centre - Led by Ashraf and team, they were meticulous and efficient. They squeezed in the wife's pool training session as soon as we arrived and got us ready for the fun dive to fit our schedule. The equipment was excellent and the dive master, Dimas was on point with his training - reassuring yet non-compromising. My wife, an amateur diver, always felt safe and enjoyed the experience immensely ! The Terrace restaurant - great staff ( shout out to Nuraga and Alih ) always made us feel at home. Vegan and Vegetarian options were never an issue and the hospitality beats so many 5-star experiences we have had elsewhere. The room - We had a stunning villa facing Mt Agong ( one of 10 ) and the view was tranquil. Team Deep Roots have truly thought of everything. The toiletries, bedding, AV equipment, wifi, shower/heating etc - par excellent. The surprise 10-year anniversary decor laid out on our bed was so beautiful and so thoughtful, it simply reminded us how the team picked up on details and went out of their way ..... Transport and Logistics - dinner reservations outside of the hotel, ferry terminal pick-ups and drop offs .... all done with ease with a big smile It is not often that on a vacation away, the accommodation leaves an impact that supersedes the location itself ..... especially in an enviable location like Nusa Penida. Deep Roots truly exceeded all our expectations. If you think you've seen it all and felt it all ...... well, let Deep Roots challenge that !

Honeymoon trip - great experience with super service in a beautiful resort

We had a great stay in the DeepRoots resort. Great service, super kind and helpful personnel as well as beautiful rooms and pool. We could not have wished for a better experience on Nusa Penida, really outstanding! The dive school was also great with super (new) equipment and helpful & kind diving instructors. Definitely recommend this beautiful place.

Es war eines der schönsten Unterkünfte für uns auf unserer Bali Reise. Die Qualität des Zimmers und der Ausstattung war wirklich top. Das Personal unglaublich freundlich und zuvorkommend. Tolle Anlage und zwei schöne Pools. Etwas abseits gelegen, dafür aber sehr ruhig! Mit dem Roller ist alles gut zu erreichen und das Hotel hilft bei der Anmietung. Das Frühstücksbuffet war wirklich toll und für jeden etwas dabei! Yogaangebot war auch super. Wir haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt und können das Deep Roots nur von Herzen weiterempfehlen 🙂!

Einzigartiges Juwel mitten im Regenwald mit atemberaubendem Ausblick und unglaublichem Essen

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und zuvorkommend. Wir wurden sehr herzlich empfangen und haben uns rundum wohl gefühlt. Das Hotel hat eine sehr ruhige Lage, ist sauber und modern eingerichtet. Das Bett war sehr bequem und das Zimmer sehr geräumig. Wir hatten einen atemberaubenden Ausblick auf Mount Agung (Cottage mit Mountain View). Unser Highlight war das unglaublich gute Essen. Das Küchenteam zauberte einzigartige Menüs mit perfekt ausbalancierten Aromen und die Präsentation war sagenhaft. Das Serviceteam hat ebenfalls einen tollen Job gemacht. Wir hatten etwas Pech mit einem gebuchten Tagesausflug und wurden vom Hotel hierfür sofort und sehr großzügig entschädigt. Mit so viel Entgegenkommen hatten wir nicht gerechnet. Man hat uns außerdem versichert, den Tour-Anbieter zu wechseln, sodass andere Gäste künftig ein besseres Erlebnis haben werden. Wir können das Hotel uneingeschränkt weiterempfehlen für alle, die Ruhe und Entspannung suchen.

Wir haben nichts auszusetzen. Wenn man einen kleinen Kritikpunkt nennen müsste, wäre es der Fußboden in unserem Zimmer, der etwas schmutzig war. Das tut aber dem insgesamt sehr guten Eindruck, den wir vom Hotel hatten, keinen Abbruch. Ich bin sicher, das Team hätte sich sofort gekümmert, wenn wir uns beschwert hätten. Das war aber aus unserer Sicht nicht nötig.

Parfait du service, au logement, aux activités

Le service est parfait et le personnel aux petits soins pour nous durant tout le séjour. La chambre et la piscine sont incroyables. La vue est vraiment a coupé le souffle. De plus, l’hôtel propose de nombreuses activités sur place : yoga, plonge, cours de cuisine, spa, …. De plus, il y a souvent une activité le soir. Nous avons eu un concert et c’était vraiment super. Le restaurant et les cocktails sont très bons. Vous pourrez manger à la fois indonésien et plus occidental si vous le souhaitez

La gentillesse du personnel, la qualité des équipements et le soin qui y est apporté, la cuisine servie dans l’établissement. Tout était très bien !

Le seul petit moins c’est l’emplacement si on est pas en scooter car les taxis sont onéreux à Nusa Penida et se déplacent surtout pour plusieurs excursions.
