Clean apartments and helpful staff

The apartment was very clean and tidy, the staff were very helpful, and the location was excellent. Everything was great—just perfect.

There were only two small issues: the toaster didn’t work, and the sauna didn’t get very hot. That’s it.

Cold Apartment, Poor Handling of the problem. I don't recommend Lapinmaa Apartments in Rovaniemi

I am sharing this review to warn other travelers about a serious issue we experienced at Lapinmaa Apartments (Apartment B12) in Rovaniemi. Stay dates: 31 January – 2 February 2026 Guests: Family of four From the first night (31 January), one of the main radiators — one of the largest heating units in the apartment — was completely not working. Because of this, the apartment remained cold all night. We left the apartment around 11:00 a.m., and until that time the room temperature still felt very low and uncomfortable. We are a family with children, and all of us felt cold during the night and still cold at 10:00 in the morning. Some family members even started coughing, which is concerning from a health perspective. This is not a small inconvenience. Rovaniemi is in the Arctic Circle, and outdoor temperatures during our stay were around –20°C. In such conditions, proper heating is not a luxury — it is a basic safety requirement. The heating system should have been checked and confirmed to be fully operational before guest arrival. Clearly, this was not done. We contacted the property and requested urgent help. A staff member eventually came and fixed the radiator, but only in the afternoon of the next day, long after we had already spent a freezing and uncomfortable night. What made the situation worse was the management’s attitude. They refused to refund the first night and claimed the indoor temperature was 22°C when they came, and stated that “in Finland, general indoor temperatures are 18–23°C.” This argument ignores the fact that: • The radiator was objectively not working during the night • We experienced clear cold discomfort • The issue was only resolved the next afternoon A temperature reading taken later does not change the reality of a cold, sleepless night in sub-arctic conditions. Additional issue: Access to the building Finding the entrance is also unnecessarily difficult, especially for late arrivals.

Excellent apartments.

3 adults and 3 children stayed here January 2026 It was so warm and cosy. The location was excellent, for our first time visiting rovaniemi we wanted to be close to shops and restaurants. A 2 min walk to a 24h shop. The sofa beds in the kitchen area were so comfortable. The kids loved them. Thank you for making our trip a memorable one.

The distance to Santa Claus Village and the main aurora-hunting areas is a bit far, taking about 25–45 minutes by car, but there are many nice places nearby to explore and enjoy the scenery.

Convenient place for a short stay in Rovaniemi

Good central location, nicely furnished and worked well for one night stop before heading to the airport early.

The entrance to get in was a bit odd as you go through a car park. The accommodation was also quite expensive but probably comparable to other places in Rovaniemi during peak season.

A nice holiday overall

We stayed at the apartment for 1 week, 5 people. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed, it was basic but good. The apartment is right next to the shopping centre, there are restaurants, taxi, buses and the grocery shop Sale, was open 24 hrs which was very convenient. I loved the fact that we were provided with a code to enter which meant that we didn't have to worry about losing the key and everybody could enter anytime they wanted without the need for a key. The sauna in the apartment was a big bonus, the host was prompt in their replies to our questions; there was a laundry room upstairs with washing, drying and ironing facilities which was free of charge and very good for us all (there was even laundry detergent). We will definitely go again and recommend the apartment to anyone wishing to visit Lapland.

I wished there was a bath mat for the toilet and one for the shower room so we didn't have to use the towels; I wished there was a way to make the radiators in the living room hotter during night as we felt chilly sometimes

Spacious apartment, we were a group of three and were very comfortable. On Xmas day, the apartment manager/host organised a surprise for guests which was a nice gesture.

Apartments were very clean, warm and well equipped. Location was perfect right in the city centre. We accidentally left cash in one of the bedrooms and the owners returned it to us promptly and couldn't have been more helpful.

Loved the location and was very comfortable

Location was Great - above an excellent restaurant called Hooks - right in the middle of the town - two floors up and no noise - heating good - beds good - tv on site with free wifi slept five comfortably - location was really excellent and i would definetly stay again

The Dishwasher while it turned on didnt load water and meant we couldnt clean dishes the host was responsive at the beginning but slow and when we asked for a later check out time we had no response twice but he responded to something else we mentioned so maybe that needs some work customer service wise

location was excellent with grocery store underneath, department store and restaurants and cafes within 5 mins. Most pick ups for tours within 5 mins of apartment at Santa Claus Hotel. Heating in living area great, not a fancy shower but it was hot to warm your bones at the end of the day

Zeer tevreden over ons verblijf. Alles was in orde, het appartement (B15) was zeer net en verzorgd. De communicatie verliep uitstekend en vlot. Een echte aanrader! Tip voor wie op zoek wil naar het Noorderlicht: Lapland X Tours!

A localização é excelente, próximo de restaurantes e supermercados. Apto bem equipado, cama confortável e a entrada por código funciona muito bem. Entrada pela loja Sokos ( elevador à direita )ou pela rampa que dá acesso ao estacionamento ( 24 horas )

L ' accesso all'appartamento.L' ascensore per arrivare alla porta d'ingresso del palazzo si trova all'interno di un negozio che ovviamente ha orari di apertura e chiusura. L'alternativa oltre questi orari è : un salita del parcheggio auto o una scala di servizio di fianco al palazzo. entrambi con ghiaccio /neve. All 'interno del palazzo , manca l'ascensore per arrivare ai piani che sono 2 ma con valigie è abbastanza faticoso fare le scale.

Onze vlucht werd gecanceld en we mochten dezelfde dag nog in het appartement. We kregen zelf nog een fles bubbels en een doos chocolade erbij om ons te verwelkomen.
