Casuta din Cotroape - Maramureș

The cabin is absolutely stunning—far more beautiful than the photos can capture. This authentic 100-year-old wooden cabin has been lovingly restored and thoughtfully modernized with top-of-the-line amenities while preserving its historic charm. We especially appreciated the incredible attention to detail and the carefully curated traditional decorations throughout the property. It reminded me of my childhood visits to my grandparents' home, and you can truly feel the love and passion the owners have poured into creating such a special place. My family from Florida was captivated by both the beauty of the area and the cabin itself. Staying here felt like stepping into a fairy tale, and it became an unforgettable part of our Maramureș experience. We loved watching the sunsets from the porch, listening to the sounds of nature, and simply soaking in the peaceful atmosphere. Our children, ages 5 and 6, spent hours enjoying the play area and running freely through the grass. The homemade organic meals prepared by Mrs. Mariana were a culinary highlight of our trip. Every dish was delicious, authentic, and made with care. In my opinion, she deserves a Michelin star! The horse-and-carriage ride and visit to the farm absolutely made our children's day. They had never experienced anything like it and loved every moment. We got to pet piglets and calves, enjoy freshly baked homemade bread, sample smoked pork, and even try traditional pălincă. The cabin is also conveniently located close to the Mocănița steam train station, which is another must-do experience when visiting the area. The hosts are truly exceptional—warm, attentive, and always ready to help. They also provided a detailed guide filled with recommendations for local activities and attractions, which made our stay even more enjoyable and stress-free. I recommend this place wholeheartedly. It offers a truly authentic Maramureș experience, and we will most certainly be back.

Die Lage ist einmalig, genauso wie das Haus selbst. Die Ausstattung ist sehr gut und das Grundstück ist riesig. Perfekt für einen Aufenthalt um die Gegend zu erkunden.

Beautiful view, peaceful location, everything was clean and well-maintained, great service and nice play areas for children.

There were quite a lot of cameras, including inside the house and in the garden, with one pointed at the hot tub.

Experiența mea la Căsuța din Cotroape a fost absolut minunată! Gazda a fost extrem de serviabilă, iar atmosfera cu elemente tradiționale și moderne a adăugat un confort deosebit! Peisajul încântător și prezența jacuzzi-ului a contribuit la adevărată relaxare. Locația aproape de obiectivele turistice face din această cazare o opțiune excelentă pentru o escapadă reușită. Recomand cu căldură!
