I liked the spacious room. I was upgraded to a one-bedroom, and it was new, clean, and well maintained.
The location was not ideal. I stayed there because I had a function at the hotel, but it is a bit far, and there is construction in the surrounding area.

Nice staff, nice hotel, clean, neat, equipped.
The breakfast was served in McGettigan's which is a bar. For a Muslim, and in a Muslim country, this is completely unacceptable. We felt very uncomfortable being surrounded by alcohol which is against Islam. This was very shocking and disappointing and ruined an otherwise pleasant stay.

Price nothing else
I was highly uncomfortable with how the counter receptionist handled my checkout. Because of the hot morning weather in Dubai, I was carrying a water bottle. She provocatively insisted that I leave it behind, claiming it wasn’t allowed. Even if such a rule existed, the lack of hospitality not even offering a replacement bottle or a cup of water was very disappointing.
