The villa was beautiful with amazing views—definitely a peaceful and secluded getaway. The property has a lot of charm, though it is a little on the older side. Be aware that the drive up is very narrow, one-lane, and unlit at night, and getting any type of transportation (taxi or uber) was definitely difficult due to the location.Inside, the bathrooms had low water pressure when multiple showers were in use. The loft and basement rooms had little air circulation, and several of us ended up with numerous mosquito bites. Soap, shampoo, and lotion were not initially provided, but once I messaged the property manager, she quickly brought supplies for all six bathrooms, which was appreciated. The host was great—very communicative and thoughtful. She even left snacks, pastries, fruit, milk, and water for us, which was a lovely touch. One thing to note: while Vrbo shows the total payment upfront, the host required an additional tax in cash (euros) upon arrival. I’ve never experienced that before on any other rental site, so it was unexpected.Overall, a beautiful property with stunning views and a wonderful host, but with some quirks, bugs, and logistical challenges that travelers should know ahead of time. Thanks

We stayed 2 weeks at the Villa. It was beautiful with amazing views. The villa is extremely spacious with large bedrooms and living areas. The kitchen is amazing. Mariolina was a wonderful hostess and very responsive to our needs. I had broken my leg just a few days prior to our stay and she went out of her way to make me as comfortable as possible. She has a wealth of information about the area and places to dine. We took a number of her recommendations and were not disappointed. She also introduced us to Alessandro, a private driver who took us on a custum daytrip to Tuscany. There were 6 of us and our it was an amazing day. Please be aware- In order to have such an amazing view in a stunning villa such as this, you have to be prepared to drive on some old and narrow roads. For the Italian driver, its no big deal but for the uninitiated it can be stressful. Small cars are best for sure or even better, take cabs.

Big house with multiple rooms and bathrooms. It was perfect for ou large group of adults. Description is accurate. Our host was extremely helpful with logistics - it really helped make the stay a success! We had great weather and spend most of the time on the terrace which is very nice. We were a group of 15 friends. The only challenge is that getting taxis for such a large group was taking a bit of time but our host was again very helpful and organized it for us.

The home is private, stately and well-maintained with over-sized rooms and stunning views of gardens, hills and downtown Florence. Mariolina is lovely and responsive to all questions and requests. The only drawback is the harrowing drive up the narrow, winding roads and steep driveway, but that can’t be helped. Once you arrive, it’s worth the climb!

Overall we loved our stay. The villa had great spaces to spend time with others, both indoors and outdoors, and large bedrooms to spend time alone as needed. The kitchen was great, even though we ate out quite a bit and didn't do much cooking. There were a few plumbing issues that needed to be addressed while we were there, but they were quickly taken care of. The only drawback as far as the location was the fact that we needed to hire cabs and drivers due to the distance from the city. We didn't want to rent a car and try to drive in the city. We didn't mind paying the fare, but the cabbies were never too happy about the drive once they arrived. Fortunately we were able to get different ones each time. LOL We all loved the comfort of the beds and the bathrooms were quite nice. We were never lacking for availability to a bathroom. The property manager Mariolina was very responsive to any requests or questions that we had during our stay. She also helped us coordinate a lovely day trip to the Chianti area with a driver that she was familiar with.

This villa is big and lovely! It's older but nicely decorated and has italian old world charm while still having modern conveniences. The bedrooms are each uniquely decorated and the beds very comfortable! The bathrooms vary in size and decor but all are fully updated with showers; some are ensuite and some a few steps away from the bedrooms. There are plenty of linens and a washing machine on the lower level. We had a lot of people and "cooked in" a lot...the kitchen is beautiful (chandelier and all) and well equipped (6 burner gas cooktop, electric oven, pizza oven, and grill...there is also a microwave, coffee makers, a big refirgerator and a second smaller one!). The dining room is big and beautiful (with a fireplace) and we had no trouble seating14 people. There's china, stemware, serving dishes, and enough silverware for large groups. The salon/living room is big with a fabulous chandelier and lots of seating (also a TV); we spent a lot of evenings there chatting and hanging out together. The salon opens out (french doors) to a big veranda/patio that has another large table (with a romantic draped awning) for outdoor dining; we ate outside a lot and the view from the patio is absolutely gorgeous...especially at night! There is also outdoor lighting (the property is nice landscaped and cared for) and plenty of parking. You will need a car (or cars, depending on the size of your group)! Our host, Mariolina was the best...always available and helpful!

We absolutely loved our stay in this villa! It is an older hunter’s lodge situated in the hills with stunning views overlooking the city. Each room is beautifully furnished with a story all of its own. There was more than enough room for our group of 12 to stay comfortably with large gathering rooms for eating, playing card games and watching movies together. Mariolina was an excellent host and was quick to respond to any questions we had, including restaurant and shopping recommendations in the area. She even had drinks ready for us in the fridge, and sent short videos to show us how to use unique features of the home. Even though it is in the hills, the villa is only 10 minutes away from restaurants, shopping and the Firenze Castello station.
