Schooner Court No2

The ground floor apartment was lovely, nicely furnished and warm (we stayed in November). The kitchen was very well equipped and we appreciated having a dishwasher, as well as full oven and large fridge freezer. The location was GREAT, right in the centre of everything that Alnmounth has to offer. There was building work outside our front french windows that the owner had kindly warned us about and gave a discount for this reason which we really appreciated. As it was winter and a weekend there was no work until Monday morning. But all privacy lost if you open the sitting room curtains on Monday morning. It is a shame and hopefully by summer the work will be completed.

The patio that belongs to the ground floor and has a nice set of table and chairs is right on the roadside. Even without the building work this would not be ideal. But as we had had to change our dates to the autumn this was not a problem for us, but had it been springtime, as originally planned, being next to the road and a building site would have been bad. A fence to make the patio more private would be a good idea regardless of building work.

Very well equipped and comfortable accommodation. A good base for exploring the coast, nature reserves, gardens and buildings of interest in Northumberland.

Proximity and extent of building site at front of property was worse than we had expected. Fortunately with good weather we did not spend long in the property during working hours.
