Le Clos des Sternes

Je remercie chaleureusement tout le personnel qui nous a accueillis chaleureusement. Ce fut un plaisir. Nous avons rarement été reçus avec une telle prévenance auparavant.

Il faisait très chaud dans l'appartement, une climatisation aurait été la bienvenue . Mais une telle canicule n'est sans doute jamais arrivée à l'ile de Ré. Cela est compréhensible et n'est pas de la responsabilité du clos des Sternes.

Die Ausstattung der Küche war minimalistisch

Ein wunderschönes Areal mit tollen Pflanzen. Es ist an alles gedacht.

Die Parkplätze könnten näher dran sein. Allerdings braucht man auf der Insel eigentlich selten das Auto.

The property is absolutely beautiful. It is well kept and hosts are so lovely. The whole area in La Flotte is stunning. The check-in was smooth. Hosts were happy to answer questions before our trip. There is a fantastic free washing and drying area for clothes and all the cleaning products and equipment are available. It is close to the centre of La Flotte and there are both hire bikes and space for your bike under cover. We found a parasol in the well equipped beach equipment box (thank you) to borrow. Not withstanding a heat wave the hotel is wonderful. But do feel the misrepresentation of our room in advance of booking would see us not returning.

After booking we were asked for a 100€ cleaning fee. This is not made clear before booking in the additional fees section. An out of app email is sent. As we drove over we took our own cleaning products to clean on departure. We arrived on site parking which is about 200 meters from the hotel. The booking information states that luggage carriers are available. We looked for them but there were none. We left our things in the van and walked to the hotel. It wouldn’t ordinarily be a problem but we had driven for 4 hours in 35 degrees. The luggage carts are stored on site and not in the car park. Once booked in we picked up luggage carts from the site and walked back to the car park to pick up our things! It was REALLY hot. We were advised not to drive down to drop your things at the door. We realised immediately the studio we booked was not the one advertised. Our room was small, dark and had no natural airflow (windows advertised online did not exist). It was not decorated in the lovely airy style of the photos advertised. The bed was squeezed into an alcove with approximately 6 inches each side to get to the bathroom. There were shelves in the corners that we bumped heads on. We did not sleep for several nights in the room. Despite a fan provided, once the doors were shut the room was boiling. The bed is small with outside cushions for pillows rather than full sized pillows. Pillows are plastic like material and hot, sweaty and noisy! We could only sleep from around 4/5am when we felt comfortable opening the doors. This severely cut into our day. One evening my phone switched itself off because it was so hot! We both felt very unwell and sadly decided to make the hosts aware we were leaving early. We had no option but to move to an air conditioned hotel on the island and forfeit two nights of our stay. We cleaned the room at 10pm at night before leaving for the new hotel and left the fridge open to defrost as required in the cleaning policy.
