About this cottage rental
Dog-friendly Critchlow Cottage sleeps three people and has everything you need for a perfect escape. It’s part of a beautiful Peak District retreat which is spread across 12 acres of National Park with stunning views. The cottage is spread across two floors. There is an open-plan living and dining downstairs with underfloor heating. Upstairs there is a double and single bedroom. The bathroom has a walk-in shower and there’s a private south-facing patio. Critchlow Cottage is part of the Wheeldon Trees Cottages retreat nestled under High Wheeldon. The retreat has an honesty shop, laundry room, children's play area, The White Company toiletries in every bathroom, free EV charging, its own roasted High Wheeldon Rising fresh coffee, super-fast zooming and free electric bikes for guests to borrow.

My husband and I have traveled to the UK several times and we always try to stay in guest cottages. This was by far the most welcoming! From the personal welcome bag to the upscale charm we loved every bit of our stay. Have you ever tried to figure out the tv remote or thermostat when away? Here everything was loving and understandably written down for us. Relaxing music was playing upon our arrival and a bottle of wine was chilling in the fridge! The country side was breathtaking too!

Wheeldon Trees cottages are in a beautiful location with great walks from the cottages and within easy reach of Buxton. The cottage was clean and welcoming, very well equipped and comfortable. There was a lovely 'welcome' tote bag, and a range of delicious supplies in the 'honesty shop'. We really enjoyed our two nights' stay and wished it could have been longer! We hope to return.

The accommodation was superb. Very clean and the hosts had thought of everything. We even got a lovely bag of goodies on arrival. It was absolutely fabulous.
