Lake Windermere (8 miles), the charming communities of Bowness-on-Windermere and Hawkshead, which have won the hearts of many, and Cartmel, the birthplace of sticky toffee pudding, with its renowned racecourse and the L'Enclume restaurant, which has been ranked as the fourth best restaurant in the UK, are all within a short drive of the property. Levens Hall, with its Elizabethan Hall and renowned topiary gardens, Holker Hall, Furness Abbey, Sizergh Castle, a National Trust mediaeval castle and grounds, and Conishead Priory, a Gothic revival country house, are some of the further local attractions.
