Overall would recommend, especially with kids. They do have a few quirks though. Breakfast is basic, if they spent a little extra on quality products (like real orange juice, and better coffee) and reduced the range to achieve this it would be better. Weirdly they charge for a bucket of ice! Despite the slides saying ok for children under 1.40cm if accompanied by a parent, they are not. They did agree to adhere to this in the end though and accommodate my daughter, so hats off to them. The hotel is clean, with excellent facilities and the staff are very helpful. At the price a great option if you are opting to stay in the north of the island.

If you don’t like crowds of international visitors, then this place isn’t for you. It’s full of tour groups and people who are probably having their first breakfast buffet at a resort - there’s no etiquette or civic sense; it’s everyone for themselves. People pick up food and put it back, they take way more than they can eat and waste good food, and the food is dry and unappetizing. The tables and cutlery look worn and unclean. The location is just Meh. Grandworld is a town where you get hassled every step of your visit. You’ll be bombarded by workers from spas, restaurants, and tuktuks everywhere you go. The only people that won’t bother you are the phamacists and convenience store clerks. The beach club is not well maintained. There garbage everywhere and not all that relaxing. You also need to pay to play pool or foseball, it’s not free. The fitness room is tiny and the only strength training machine was broken. The best things about the hotel are the clean public restrooms and large pool. That’s about it. The staff don’t seem all that enthusiastic to be there. They bow, but don’t smile much. It’s like they’re underpaid and overworked. There were renovations happening on the 4th floor so we were woken up every day around 7:00am with load hammering. The pictures look good, but when you zoom into the details, you see the many problems with this hotel.
