Fabulous accomodation with a great host

Location was fabulous . Very scenic with high mountains and lake. Also liked being able to walk 500m into the town or down to the lakefront.

Charming apartment near Varenna with all the things you need.

The apartment is located in a quiet and residential part of the town of Colico. The apartment has a huge garden in the backyard with swimming pool, barbecue and deck chairs. The apartment can easily accommodate six adults. The apartment was immaculately clean and well organized. If you are traveling by car, there is convenient and free parking right in front of the apartment. Simona, the host, is very friendly and always available for any questions. Even though she did not speak English, we managed to talk via Google translate and it worked perfectly. The apartment is 20 minutes by car from Varenna, or if you want to go by ferry, then the ferry station is just a 5 minute walk. However, ferries from Colico to Varenna are limited and can take one to two hours. All in all a great place for a couple or a large family or group of friends to stay with all the amenities. Highly recommended.

The shower area was extremely small for a six foot adult. Could have been a little bigger, but manageable for a short stay.

Dopo un lungo ed estenuante viaggio durato 7 ore, ho accompagnato i miei clienti e ospiti nella struttura da me prenotata "A due passi dal lago".... Un buco, un sottoscala condominiale, anonimo. Giunto in struttura alle 15:05 e atteso in auto fino alle 15:20 L'appartamento mi risultava già non occupato. La gestrice o proprietaria mi è parsa stizzita per non aver chiamato in anticipo del nostro arrivo da lei richiesto per le 16:00, nonostante l'avessi avvertita il giorno prima del possibile arrivo in struttura con un po' di anticipo, così come è avvenuto. Nel pretendere 200,00 euro di cauzione, in caso di guasti o danni alla struttura è rimasta sorpresa quando le ho chiesto una ricevuta. Queste le sue parole: LEI È LA PRIMA PERSONA CHE MI CHIEDE LA RICEVUTA. Inoltre non ho avuto nessuna ricevuta riguardante la tassa di soggiorno. La notte del 19 Maggio ha piovuto a dirotto e nella montagna retrostante è caduta una discreta nevicata. I miei ospiti hanno avuto freddo ma nell' intento di scaldare un po' l' ambiente hanno constatato che i comandi per l'aria condizionata erano sotto chiave. Sarebbe bastato azionare quei comandi e l' indomani riferire del bisogno ed applicare quanto ( eventualmente richiesto) …........... Per me e i miei ospiti questo ha marcato 😱 l' inizio di una lunga vacanza che si è appena conclusa positivamente.🤗 Abbiamo soggiornato in diverse strutture, ognuna unica nel suo genere, luoghi magnifici che fanno dell' Italia un vero santuario di storia, arte, bellezza e gentilezza. Personalmente, la mia professione mi ha portato a stare a contatto col pubblico per decenni, oltre che aver gestito una storica e pregevole dimora nel cuore della Toscana. Con malincuore ma con obiettività reputo questa gestrice non all' altezza dell' accoglienza da me desiderata.
