The Orpen Kruger, Cork Tree Collection

Everything. Best resort I’ve stayed in South Africa, and possibly all my travels. The Orpen Kruger Lodge is a very special place, staffed by a team that went all out to make my stay special. Riri made many exceptional arrangements for my wife and I - including to arrange for an afternoon game drive on our first day even though we arrived 10 mins after the game drive had set off, and to arrange for an extra game drive on our final day. Veronica is an exceptionally friendly host that made us feel exceptionally welcome. And Louis and Look are exceptional game drive guides with the keenest eyesight, helping us to spot all big 5 within a single game drive in Kruger. The property is also very clean and comfortable, and food remarkable. And you get the most magical sunset at the pool. The best part? It’s unbelievably reasonably priced for the quality you get. And all the extras, like drinks and massages, are fairly priced too. (The African massage we got was also excellent!) This was the highlight of our trip!

Friendly staff and great food

Lovely place to stay, conveniently close to the Kruger Orpen gate. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable (especially the bed).

Would have loved a door that closed between the bedroom and bathroom area, and perhaps a better shower head.

We loved how friendly the staff was, especially how much care they took to ensure we arrived safely, since we arrived much later than the check-in time. We also really enjoyed how beautiful the lodge is, and the scenic walk to the chalets. Finally, the Boma experience was out of this world!

There is very little not to like. However, we noticed fine details where the room cleanliness could've been improved, e.g. the soup dispensers.
