Buffelshoek Tented Camp

If you are looking for a true bush safari experience this is your place. The game drives were excellent as the guide/driver can truly go off road and we did to find the animals and to put us in great position for pictures. The food was good and the staff super friendly and helpful. Excellent communication about best way to travel in due recent road closures. If possible rent a little bit of a higher clearance vehicle as the drive back is on some rough roads. Taking your time driving back and following the will mark signage is the key. Lynn & Dudley are gracious hoist and are working hard to remodel their camp. We look forward to coming back one day.

We stayed at Manyeleti Safari Camp during our 3 days of safari and had a wonderful experience. What we liked most was the authentic and rustic atmosphere of the camp. The camp is simple but comfortable. The staff was friendly and helpful during our stay. We recommend this camp to anyone!

The host, Lynn, was super helpful on keeping us up to date on the road conditions as it had been raining a lot. The food overall was good and there was more than enough at each meal. Staff was very friendly. Really fun to see elephants walking in the camp. Overall a good experience but know what to expect.

We were a bit disappointed in the state of the place. The tents are quite run down and we definitely expected higher quality from seeing the photos, although they keep things clean and the beds are ok. If it isnt warm out the tents are very cold. And we sure to put any food in the bins or else you will have mice as visitors. The main shared area was also dated and they were redoing the roof so there was a temporary ceiling built which meant that things felt closed in and the roof terrace wasn't usable. The outdoor braai area didn't look ready to use. We had quite cold, rainy weather but most of our drives were dry. If it rains, you just put a raincoat on and go so be prepared. Unfortunately our safari vehicles no longer had 4wd capacity so we got stuck on 2 drives which put a damper on the day. The safari driver/guide is a great guy and is great at spotting things. But remember you are in a private reserve area so you have the luxury of being the only car around but drives out can be hit ir miss. We had a few great drives spotting a huge pride of lions with babies, a family of 13 elephants, etc but other drives we didn't see much at all. Part of the experience! Roads were horrible and strongly advise to not go in a sedan and prepare extra time if wet.

Great bush camp in a fantastic location Nice safari tents with en suite bathroom, shower, toilet. Fantastic food.
