Himoksen Pistaasi Lake view incl WiFi, AC, fireplace

Key collection from a lockbox with the code emailed an hour before arrival - same for pre-booked jacuzzi - all worked smoothly. Villa Pistaasi exceeded our expectations. It was a beautifully equipped cabin in a serene woodland setting. The kitchen had everything you could want including a dishwasher, the bedrooms were lovely, we hired linen and towels which was great for us coming from the UK, the drying cabinet in the utility was a big novelty (we don't have those in the UK but it was great for drying our swimming stuff after a lake swim or using the jacuzzi). The nearby town of Jämsä had a great K Market supermarket, a lovely Chinese restaurant, petrol station etc. We did a lovely walk round the woodland at top of the Himos ski resort, and spent a fabulous morning at nearby Moose Manor (Restaurant Hirvikartano) where we were able to stroke and feed reindeer and moose. Lovely walk to the lake. The jacuzzi which we paid extra for was such a highlight - we sat out in it till midnight under the pine trees, dusky sky and looking over to the lake - there wasn't a single sound anywhere; as a family we will remember that for a very long time 🥰. We would love to come back and see it in winter.

The two issues we had (lack of spoons and a dodgy plug socket) were easily reported to the agent. And the queries about Wi-Fi and restarting the router, and how the jacuzzi worked were speedily answered on email by the agent. Being British we would have appreciated a few more instructions on how the jacuzzi worked etc (i.e. that it keeps going 24/7 and you don't have to 'turn it off', and how to remove the cover, and how to lock it back up again, but that's mainly because we're not used to having our own jacuzzi). A map of how to get to the lake and where it was possible to swim from, also would have been good. We found our way, but many accesses were marked private and it wasn't clear if that meant it was private for the estate as a whole or the individual properties.
