Disappointing stay: poor comfort and maintenance. Good situation in old town.

Nice situation in the heart of the old town. Cute patios with tree in front of the building.

Disappointing stay – poor comfort and maintenance .The bed sheets were synthetic polyester: slippery, uncomfortable and not breathable. When I asked for cotton sheets, I was told there were none, so we had to buy our own. .The double bed was very small (140×190 cm). My husband’s feet were hanging off the end. A 160 cm (queen-size) bed should be the minimum standard for a holiday rental, especially since the room is large enough. .The bedroom window handle was broken, so the window would not close. This made the room cold and created a security issue. We reported it on the first day, but nobody came to fix it. .For our last night we were moved to the ground floor instead of the second floor, where the bathroom was in very poor condition, with rust and visible deterioration. .Customer service sent polite WhatsApp messages but provided no actual help. Overall very disappointing. The decoration also felt impersonal — a place meant for tourism should feel more welcoming.

Excellent stay and will be back

Location was in centre of old town in among all the restaurants and squares. Despite being in busy area the only noise we heard were the church bells. Beautiful terrace where we sat out and enjoyed breakfast.

Could have done with instructions for heating and cooker, but maybe we just missed those. Have to be careful in bottom inner courtyard/ foyer when it has rained as the puddle on tiles can be very slippy.

Location was great, in the old town, unfortunately I didn’t have too much time to explore it fully. My accommodation was in a location where it was quiet at night, but restaurants, ice cream and supermarkets were on my doorstep.

I’m not sure there is anything to call out here. I would consider coming back next time I visit. Access to parking would be great for me - as I would want to explore more around Marbella next time. Taxis were readily available though.

Some good some bad in Marbella

AC worked well. Seriously close to everything in Old Town. Having a refrigerator. Good WiFi.

Pillows were flat. Cleaning items in behind curtains in the bedroom so we could not open the window. No TV in the living room. Bed was very firm. Sewer smell in the entire place. Terrible communication with company about being able to leave bags in the apartment until our later flight.

Great Location, Host is a catastrophe!

Honestly, I don’t even know where to start. After a smooth after-hours check-in, things went downhill immediately. We discovered mold in the bathroom, and the very next morning we noticed a leaking toilet which caused a constant disgusting urine smell in the entire apartment. Reading older reviews, it is obvious this is a long-known problem that hasn’t been fixed. I reported this to the host on Sunday, who promised that maintenance would come on Monday. Nobody came. After several attempts to reach the host, we were completely ignored – no calls answered, no replies to messages. Only after contacting Booking.com customer service did someone finally show up on Tuesday, without any notice. The repair was done, but the bathroom was left absolutely filthy, with no cleaning provided afterwards. We ended up spending our holiday evening at the supermarket buying cleaning products to clean the mess ourselves – something the host should have done. Even the toilet paper, soaked yellow from the leaking toilet, was not replaced despite being promised. According to the service agreement, after one week towels and bed linen should have been replaced. Again, our requests were ignored by the host. Only after contacting Booking.com customer service did someone come. In the same context, we asked for a vacuum cleaner to freshen up the place after a week (since cleaning is not included during a 14-day stay). The request was denied because – incredibly – there was no vacuum cleaner at all. Cleaning is apparently done with just a broom and a single cloth for the entire apartment. This might explain why there were ants crawling everywhere, so once again we had to go and buy traps ourselves. The couch was filthy, and the so-called balcony is a joke – it barely fits a drying rack and is not usable for people. Now about the equipment: simply put, the apartment is extremely poorly equipped. We had to buy almost everything ourselves.

Would be perfect if the damp problem was fixed

The location is amazing and the layout of the apartments is great. Very spacious and modern, good aircon too. The host was helpful with check in and out.

We had 2 apartments and the upstairs was absolutely perfect. However, the downstairs smelled quite strongly of damp. The smell grew as our stay went on and it was unbearable by the end. Our friends downstairs had to move to our apartment because the smell made it hard to breathe and there was a serious ant infestation in the kitchen.

Never coming boming back to this property again

The location great!

But it had a big issue with humidity and smell, a lot of flies and the roof was drooping water in my room! I ask the staff they came and fix it they came immediately but did not clean! They say they will clean next day when I was leaving I had to sleep in the room full of dust and water.. workers came in when we weren’t there they messed my baggage with water and paint. I ask them for at least an act of appreciation or at least clean the floor or room and they offered me after all this situation a free paella for 2 .. I manage Airbnb properties in Miami and to be honest this was a really poor hospitality service! With all respect is a nice area but I don’t recommend never to spend your money in this property

The taxis are unable to drive to this apartment as it is in a restricted zoom so for a woman who would be coming home at night on her own that is not ideal. Also there was only one key despite us asking for two.

Great Location

The pictures are nothing like the property. The pillows were awful only 3 provided for two people which were flat and lumpy. There was only one small mirror in the bathroom. It would have been nice to have a long mirror because we were going off to a party. It would have been good to have a chair in the bedroom mainly to chuck clothes onto and again a mirror. Builders opposite the apartment yes well!

when we booked the property, we assumed there was a roof terrace connected to all of the apartments (communal) but it looks like it’s only connected to a certain apartment that we wasn’t aware of. This was a shame.

Location was superb. Communication was fabulous, super easy and all the information you need. Room was spacious and comfortable.

We were given a different room to what we booked so didn’t have a terrace as promised which is the reason I booked so that was disappointing- the room we had balcony doors had bars so did lose that outside/inside feel so felt quite dark

I won’t talk about the bad sewers smell. I understand the building is old and stuff like that cannot be covered with perfume. However, I will talk a lot about the lack of professionalism of the host. We were given 1 key. We were two friends. I requested another key 2 days after our stay started and was told I’d be given one at eight pm so I waited. The host didn’t show up. Never called to let me know she wouldn’t make it neither. I requested another mirror because the smell in the bathroom is so strong you can’t stay there to get your makeup done. Request refused. On the day we checked in, we waited 40 minutes for the host to arrive even if I had told her that we’d be there at 4 pm and also had informed her that I was on my way as soon as I got into an uber from Malaga airport. The day of check out i sent the host a message to inquire about the modalities of the procedure. She said guests leave the key inside the house at their own risk. Why would I do that? And why couldn’t she just come to check us out? And why should I bear the responsibility if she just didn’t want to check us out? Too many questions and no answers. This house is beautiful and the location is out of this world. The personnel on the other hand could use a bit of training in terms of hospitality.

Excellent location in the heart of Marbella old town

This location in Marbella old town cannot be beaten. It really is fantastic. The facilities are modern although my mum did find it a bit difficult to make a cup of tea without any teaspoons. They allowed us to store our luggage on the day of arrival and also on departure which was very good of them. The courtyard is lovely and is a little sun trap.

The only negative we had was very VERY smelly drains in the bathroom. If we didn’t leave the bathroom door closed the smell actually overpowered the whole apartment. We recognise this is likely due to the very old building and drainage system & the hosts had tried to mitigate this with lots of plug in air fresheners

Avoid

We had a most unpleasant stay in this property. On arrival we found the sliding door of the toilet/bathroom was broken and could not be closed. As the toilet is almost in the sitting/lounge area it was impossible to use with any privacy. The tap in the bathroom sink was literally hanging off it was that loose. The shower head was almost completely blocked up with limescale and the shower cubicle itself was extremely grubby. There are air fresheners everywhere but these do not cover up the smell of drains. The coffee machine provided was unusable and, even if it had been, there were no teaspoons among the small collection of cutlery available. There is a small courtyard but there are no chairs to sit on and the table is extremely weatherbeaten and there are lots of flies. There are signs demanding that no toilet paper is flushed down the toilet and to use a small bin provided for this waste. You are also asked to remove all rubbish and waste at the end of your stay but they do not advise where to dispose of this. There are also signs stating that you will be charged an exorbitant amount if any bed linen or towels are stained or marked and considered by them to be unusable. They keep hold of a €200 retention for well over a week after departure from the property and I have read in previous reviews they have withheld retention money for unexplained reasons. I would advise taking pictures/videos of all towels and sheets etc before leaving to prove there is no damage making them unusable in the future. How they expect guests to keep towels pristine in that grubby bathroom I do not know. The bed linen we had was of poor quality and certainly did not cost the amount they quoted for replacement if rendered unusable. It was bought in Primark. I could go on but suffice to say we will not be returning to this property or any other provided by this company. We have stayed in Marbella many times before and never had any problems with the properties rented.

All round excellent trip with family

Location was great. Very clean. Decor was lovely. We didn’t meet the host but they were contactable and responsive.

The lift wasn’t working so to carry heavy luggage up flights of stairs was no pleasure. There is no place to store luggage if you arrive at the property before check in. Although we were able to leave it in our room earlier it hadn’t been cleaned so we had to come back later. Not great but I did trust that luggage was safe .

Pretty apartment in a great location- ideal stay for a group of friends or family.

Superb, quiet location in the centre of the Old Town. Excellent value for money. Very pretty & clean apartment. We could leave our bags there in the foyer after we checked out until we were leaving for the airport that evening.

Apartment needs 2 showers (one with each of the double bedrooms) especially as the bedrooms are on different floors. The host, Nico was not very flexible as to an earlier time to meet us with the keys - even though the apartment had been cleaned and was ready from early afternoon, he could not meet us until almost 5pm. We would suggest check in should be just a coded key box as you really don't need someone to meet you on arrival.
