About this house rental

Step into a piece of Galveston history at Aloha Little Lafitte, a Victorian home that survived the 1900 storm and still carries that timeless island character today. Spread out across three stories (plus a basement game room) while staying close to downtown for dining, shopping, and exploring.

Enjoy slow mornings on the front porch, spend the day out and about on the island, then come back for grill nights out back and game nights downstairs. With multiple living spaces, a dedicated workspace, and extras like bikes, foosball, and cornhole, this home is a great fit for families and friend groups.

The house was lovely and walking distance to the Strand. Communication was great too. If you are a light sleeper, the road noise in the early morning may bother you, but the house outweighed that. Thanks!

We would definitely return as the location worked well for us. It was within easy walking distance to the strand, right up the road from the Dirty Iguana. Don't expect great views but a decent neighborhood. Our biggest issue occurred on night one. When we arrived about 5 pm, the fire alarm in the upstairs bedroom went off. I contacted the host through VRBO. They returned contact by the time it stopped on its own. We agreed that as long as it didn't go off again, it could wait until the next morning. It went off again, at 130 in the morning. I sent a message. No response. I eventually called the VRBO help line and they tried to contact the host with no response. At 4 a.m., my husband took the shovel he had dound and knocked it off the wall. (We tried to get to it in other ways but it was way up on the historic walls and we did not have a ladder.) The next day, their handyman shows up and tells us it has to be replaced as it expired in 2020. We get thay things happen but... 1. If you have been informed earlier thay something is going on, take care of it then or be available in the middle of the night. 2. The purpose of using a VRBO is to ensure a good night's sleep. We did not have a good night's sleep. And 3. If something occurs and you can't take care of it in a reasonable ammount of time offer something to compensate for the problems. (They offered us an extra night at a 15% discount. We did not want to pay for an extra night nor did we have the time.)
