We had an amazing stay

El Emin Istanbul's location is undoubtedly its strongest point, offering convenient proximity to Mall of Istanbul with just a five-minute walk. The staff are cooperative enough, but beyond that, the experience deteriorates significantly. Room maintenance falls well below acceptable standards. The window handle is broken and the window keeps opening on its own, forcing me to secure it against the wall as a makeshift fix. The room safe does not function properly. I called for assistance twice, and when the staff member arrived, he installed nearly dead batteries just to keep it temporarily operational. Most concerning, my daughter lost a hundred dollars in the room and never recovered it. I strongly recommend keeping valuables close at hand. Basic amenities are inadequate. The hotel provides only one small bar of soap daily, which proved insufficient, and the shampoo quality is so poor that I had to purchase my own. The mattresses are quite firm, which some may tolerate but others will find uncomfortable. WiFi went down for two days, and despite repeated follow-ups with staff, they could not provide an explanation or timeline for restoration. Noise is a persistent problem. The walls are thin, and we could hear neighboring guests shouting in the middle of the night. I had specifically requested a room away from highway traffic based on previous reviews, but the rear-facing rooms are equally problematic. The neighboring building is only two meters away, creating privacy issues if windows are left open. To make matters worse, the housekeeping team changed our bed covers during our stay, and the fresh bedding had a visible blood stain on it. The breakfast service is disappointing in both quality and approach. The food selection is poor, and staff aggressively charge guests while they are still eating with their families, without waiting for them to finish their meals. This hotel is not recommended unless you value location above all else and can tolerate substandard facilities, hygiene oversights, and poor service standards.
