It is very charming and colourful. It has everything supplied.
The only downside is to be really careful driving in and out as difficult to see cars coming on the main road.

The cottage is cozy and quiet and Brian is a very thoughtful, kind host. Modern convenience wrapped in traditional charm where I enjoyed solitude and birdsong in the day and gazed at the stars at night. Just imagine chatting ameably around the adorable outdoor firepit (as the weather allows). The woodstove inside is delightful, too! You really only need to pack your clothes and a toothbrush, grab some groceries along the way and you're all set. The most relaxed and refreshing stay I've experienced in a long time.

The cottage is beautiful. It has all the amenities. It's warm, clean and really comfy. There's a fabulous big garden with a great fire pit for a few night time beers under the stars. Brian is an outstanding host, really accommodating and cares about you having a great stay. Big thumbs up x

Needs a closed off area for dogs

The cottage was lovely and very comfortable. Brian and Elaine are great hosts !! They provided an extensive guidebook that takes you through the cottage, the area and different options for food, drink, entertainment, attractions, etc. And they live next door, so responses to any questions were immediate.
The location, although off the beaten path, is located in the middle of some historic areas, from the Irish Civil War back to Neolithic times. Brian provided a tour of these areas and is very knowledgeable about many topics... I had a blast touring with him !! This is one of our favorite stays in our 3 weeks in Ireland. We highly recommend this location, particularly for those willing to adventure !!
Nothing that they can control, as the cottage is 101 years old, but two of the three bedrooms are up steep, narrow steps. But they do provide support for families so those steps are safe... They are wonderfully organized and supportive !!

Amazing hosts and very cute cottage. Plus it was very affordable.
Outside of the host’s control, the main road by the property was dangerous.

The cottage is perfect for a stay in the South west of Ireland. It has everything you may need, it is clean and the host is very kind.
The cottage is exactly as in the photos, highly recommended for a family trip.
The position is 30mins/1h far from the main attractions; however, being in the middle represents a perfect choice for a stable starting point.

A cosy cottage with a family feel; great outdoor garden space with activities ( football, fireplace, bird watching). Good internet connection & plenty of TV channels incl. DisneyPlus). Coffee machine, Comfortable beds with electrical blankets on offer (not that it was needed as it was warm enough but it definitely was a hit for my child to go to bed on time!). It was well equipped and we had everything we needed and more! The owner was friendly, helpful and communicated promptly. We used the cottage for 2 nights stay on our road trip & cycling holidays.

The hosts were very helpful and welcoming. The kitchen had a nice feel and was well equipped. The upstairs bedrooms were warm and comfortable.
The porch area and behind the sofas had black mould on the walls and it shouldn't be rented out in that condition. The stairs were very steep so my mother (in her eighties) had to sleep in the downstairs bedroom which was accessed through the mouldy porch and was damp. Electric blankets were provided which helped.

Katie’s Cottage is a very cozy and comfortable house in the countryside, equipped with everything you need for a few days’ holiday. You’ll find a kitchen with a good gas stove and all you need for real cooking. On a colder day, the solid fuel (wood) stove in the living room gives some very pleasant additional warmth. Brian is a very kind and helpful host, and he has prepared some bits and pieces of information that are not only really helpful to understand where you are and what to do, but are really personal in character. We liked to follow some of this advice, felt quite at home and would have liked to stay for some more days …

The setting is in the country. Which is nice and quiet. It has WiFi and a neat fire pit. Very small but it worked well for what we needed. It’s about 40 minutes into Limerick. Plenty of blankets to use. The owners were very kind and had very good communication. They also provided a lot of history of the area in advance.
The couch in the sitting room was a little uncomfortable but it was ok overall. Blankets were needed as the heat needs to be adjusted by the owner who lives next door. I understand why, but my wife gets very cold. We were given the option of using the wood furnace, which doesn’t provide much warmth. We purchased addition wood for the furnace as the wood they provided was used the first night. They were very kind to let us use their freezer as there is not one available in the house.

One of the kindest, warmest and the sweetest hosts I've come across. This was my very first solo trip and I felt right at home. The most special part about the stay was not only its beautiful location but the house itself. You can feel the love and care that has gone in it as soon as you enter. Each room had beautiful artwork by Elaine. The house literally had everything I could think of! There are three bedrooms and each had it's distinct character! The garden is massive and absolutely breathtaking.
My host Brian and Elaine were extremely gracious and even invited me to their home! I also got to meet their very cute little dogs. Inspite of a family emergency and not being well himself, Brian picked me up from the Limerick junction! He even gave me a very informative tour of Limerick and told me really interesting local stories.
I wouldn't have been able to know Limerick like I do without Brian!
It was home away from home and I'd always cherish it.
Nothing!

Peaceful location, we were visited by both a dog and cat.
It needed to be aired prior to our arrival, it was musty in its smell, fine after we opened windows

The house is very cozy and small, but gives enough room for six people to cook, eat and spend time together. Everyone was just so nice and helping a lot where we needed it; such as lighting the fire while we're gone to make sure it's warm inside when we come back or showing us how to use the gas oven. We were also given lifts between the busstop and the house (for a small fare) which was very helpful. Things like the smart TV, electric blankets or adapters were greatly appreciated as well and we really enjoyed our stay! :))
The rooms on the ground floor were quite damp and we had to clean some of the cooking utensils before using them.

After four hours of being lost, we finally contacted our gracious hosts to come get us, and Brian and his sweet girls drove the 10 minutes to the pub with welcoming smiles on their faces! They were such a great sight for sore eyes! We were so so happy to see them!! And relieved 😌. Apparently all we needed was the air code in our GPS! We'll have remember that for next time!!
Elaine and Brian were so much fun to talk to and were so helpful. The cottage was a fantastic way to experience old Ireland for our first time, with all of Elaine's artistic talents on display around the whole property. It was so quaint and fun. The cottage was clean, and full of everything and more that you would need, including heated bed pads for those chilly damp nights. Although the weather was not great, there was a beautiful place for a bonfire! And lots of country roads, farms and castles to see and explore. The Lough Gur (lake) was only 10-15 minutes away and so beautiful to explore with all the ancient trees and historic sites to see.
Getting lost- lol, but it was all about the adventure!

The area is lovely and I found the towns of Hospital and Bruff very nice. Hospital is quite a historic place. Its approximately 35 minutes from Limerick City so quite convenient , and approximately 20 minutes fom Adare Manor.
The Cottage gardens are very nice and tranquil.
My initial interaction and thoughts on the owner of the Cottage was that he was helpful. However on our first day we discovered that the TV wasn't working. I rang the owner who informed me that the previous group who stayed there had stolen the TV remote amount other things. A replacement remote was to be given to us on the Wednesday, this was the previous Saturday. He asked if any if NY party was 'techy' and if we could calibrate the One4All remote. I did manage to calibrit after 4-5 hours..There was no washing machine, no oven, no grill, and a microwave that was black inside, it resembled mould. We were a party of 5 so cooking and clothes washing was required. I admit the owner had messaged about this prior to my arrival but I hadn't seen his message. An offer was made to wash our clothes, generous and kind, however its not something we would be comfortable doing. I in a text to the owner stated a few of these problems, constructively and with diplomacy. He arrived at the door seconds later enraged and was quite aggressive with my husband. It shocked us and left me feeling threatened. The following day we arrived back from the European Championship games we were attending only to find the Internet non functioning. It was functioning when we left that morning. I texted the owner and his reply was nasty! He accused my husband and I for tampering with the router. The owner had notices up regarding the router and also in his welcome manual which I'd read. We certainly tampered with nothing however later discovered that it had been switched off. I rang him to explain that we had tampered with nothing and he 'roared' at me, told me that my husband and I were horrible people and asked ne to get out of his house. I was shocked but explained that we had paid until Saturday, this was Wednesday. He then still shouting said be out of my house by 11am Saturday then cut me off mid sentence.

I was there with my two adult daughters and their children, ages 2 and 9 months. It was perfect for us because we were able to put the children to bed and then spend time together in the living room talking while being able to listen for the children.
The backyard area was perfect for the two year old to expend energy and we enjoyed sitting around the fire pit.
Because of the age and history of the cottage I felt as if we were visiting with our Irish grandparents and I love that concept.
We were there during an unusual warm spell and I just found out from my daughters that their upstairs bedrooms were hot. I slept in the downstairs bedroom and it was perfect. Had I known at the time that they had been uncomfortable I would have contacted the owner and I am sure he would have given them fans or something. He had installed a baby gate at the top of the stairs for us because of my concern about the two year old.
