About this house rental
We named this house Mample's because it was my grandmothers weekend get away. She loved the New River and wanted her family and friends to have a place to get away when they could. I remember weekends playing in that
front yard, just waiting on a train to go by so the engineer would blow his horn. The adults sitting on the porch watching us kids and enjoying the view of the River. Meadow Creek use to be a quaint little railroad town that has died off, with just residents and A LOT of good fishing and nostalgia. Mample's place sits right in the very heart of it. You can sit on the big front porch and look at the river behind what use to be a very busy store and watch what few trains that still go by. Use your imagination and you can be back in that little town visiting with the people on a Sunday afternoon. Or you can just get busy and FISH, Kayack, Canoe or hike Trails

Property was clean and spacious. Although the National Park was closed due to the shutdown, we still were able to do many things. The Bridge Walk was great, as was the Exhibition Mining Company. Having trains come by was interesting, and pretty neat.

As we wanted to visit New River Gorge National Park, this house was centrally located & very close to Sandstone Visitor Center. Plan ahead for food & supplies, as it is remote and not much around. My husband wants to return! It's a beautiful area & loved seeing the river. We got used to daily visits from the train.
