Very welcoming and helpful. Meeting other people from other countries (France and Spain) who share my love of Japan was excellent. The lady (sorry, don’t know her name - my fault) was excellent. Very helpful and informative.

ホストの温かいお人柄、建物が祖祖父さまの手づくりで、先祖代々の丁寧な生活を感じさせる素晴らしい宿でした。レンタカーで永平寺まで10分くらい。わかりやすい道でした。

I was visiting Fukui just to see Daihonzan Eiheiji, which SharedHouse Zen is conveniently close to via bus, bicycle, car, or walking path. I enjoyed staying here so much that I stayed an extra night and day after I'd seen the temple. I appreciated the host's thoughtful and intuitive systems for sharing space and resources among guests, and her kindness as well. The home itself is beautiful! It was by far the nicest accomodations I stayed in during my trip to Japan, and if you're on a backpacker's budget like I was, I think you'd have a lot of troubles finding any rooms as comfortable and low-key-elegant as these anywhere in Japan. I also met some friendly fellow travelers there, and had some great conversations.

The wifi was a bit slow in one bedroom, but not unusable. Nothing but that minor complaint.
