The property is beautiful and just a walk away from various beaches. The pool is beautiful, and the restaurant on property has great food and service.
There was a few days where the hot tub didn’t seem to be working, it was lukewarm.

The paved path to the beach, if you are smart a really USEFUL feature would be to have a way to call a motorized cart to pick you and bring you and your family back up to your room rather than having to make that steep climb back up! People would pay a tip for this HUGE service from the hotel. Also, to create a guest bathroom down there at the beach since the only option is to either walk all the back up to your room (total unlikely) or sneak into 1 Hanalei hotel property's bathroom which is not a good feeling to have to do but when you have to go you have to go!
The long and steep paved path down to the beach. If upper management of the hotel are smart then a really USEFUL feature to guests would be to have a way to call a motorized cart to pick them and their family up from down there! People would pay a tip for this HUGE service from beach back up to the hotel. Walking up that long steep hill is a pain in the ass!
Also, to create a guest bathroom down there at the beach since the only option is to either walk all the back up to your room (total unlikely) or sneak into 1 Hanalei hotel property's bathroom which is not a good feeling to have to do! When you have to go you have to go! Additionally, some of of the furniture in my room was BROKEN AND OUTDATED! Come on that is so ghetto!
Broken and old furniture makes the rooms feel dated and really takes away from the wonderful experience of being in a wonderful property in paradise! For example, the the shower handle did not work in my bathroom, totally not cool!
Another thing I didn't like: the gas fireplace near the tennis courts were told to me by a staff member driving up to me in his golf cart that "The gas fireplace will be turned off at 10pm!" Why not shut it off at 12pm? This is paradise and like to see the beautiful stars at night and listen to the waves while enjoying being outside at night in peace and soaking up being in paradise!

The view from our room was amazing! Looking down on Hanalei Bay, watching the sunsets.
The bed wasn’t very comfortable

The view and location are excellent. Good community vibe.
- Check-in took me 2 hours because of miscommunication between the renter and the hotel. It turned out that a few signatures were missing on my side.
- No shampoo/conditioner
- Smess of piss in the restroom
- The hot tube was on maintenance for the whole time

Check in was a breeze. The people that worked at the front desk, restaurant, and other employees were very friendly! Always spoke to us when we passed by them.
It was quite a walk from the condo to the resort. We never got to the resort to see what was offered for breakfast.

lights in the bathroom needed to be brighter and tub cleaned better.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed being able to text the front desk when we needed help or to just ask random questions. They were always very helpful. The resort was just beautiful and the view from our room was breathtaking. I enjoyed waking up early to sit on the balcony and watching the day begin while listening to the sounds of nature. It was the perfect location for my daughter and I. I would definitely stay in this resort again---even the same room.
I loved everything about the location and the resort. The only thing that I can think of that was missing was a foot wash located near the rooms so that we could wash the sand off when returning from the beach. I hated tracking in sand. Maybe it was there and I just missed it.

Vacasa Host was really bad. Everything else was great.

The view is amazing. We enjoyed having a balcony. The grounds were beautiful and well-kept. The beach was very private and we enjoyed visiting it daily. The room was relatively spacious.
As soon as I booked this property, I received a Booking.com confirmation w/ the total cost, explaining I would not be asked to pay more. Shortly after, Vacasa, who rents out this room, told me I would have to pay an extra ~170$ in mandatory fees. I contacted Vacasa to say I hadn't agreed to those fees prior to booking, and that they did not disclose these fees beforehand. Vacasa was COMPLETELY unhelpful and said Hanalei Bay makes these fees. Regardless, this is a bait and switch to have a customer agree to a price for a non-refundable room, and then mandate that they pay quite a bit more!
Vacasa's communication was poor. Prior to booking, I'd seen the room listed on other sites as part of a 3 bedroom apartment. I asked about this through booking.com with no response. This was the case. There is a locked door dividing the 2 "units" with separate entrances. You can hear EVERYTHING going on in the next unit. The other renters were not being disrespectful, but the set-up is extremely poor. I would not recommend it for light sleepers at all.
The curtains are not black-out curtains like most hotels, and the room is bright early AM. My husband found the bed too soft and uncomfortable.
The pool is unheated, and the hot tub was broken. The pool bar is closed (owners of an apartment told us it's been unstaffed for 3 years, and that Hanalei Bay says this is due to covid.)
The hotel staff at the front desk was rude and their policies are atypical to say the least. When we checked out at 10 AM (the mandated check-out time) we asked if there was a shower where we could rinse off prior to our flight. They informed us that there was a room we could pay for BUT we actually had to turn in our bracelets, and we were no longer able to even park at the hotel, much less use any facilities (pool, beach, etc.) They told us to go to the public beach parking lot (6 spots, which was full, not a good alternative.

Room was not clean, floors and bathtub especially dirty. Also the resort did not have the hot tub or swim up bar open....for the price needed to be able to use all amenities on the property so this was not acceptable.
