Very very disappointed at this unit

Filthy room , very dirty , the furniture should be replaced as it is filthy as well as the carpet
No place to wash dishes unless you use the bathroom . Left the unit after 2 days as we could not breathe from the dust . This unit should be not rented out until it is completely fixed. Non refundable rental which is very disappointing for us , yet convenient for the owner , the pictures on booking.com are not even close to the actual inside of this unit. I would not recommend this unit as a rental ( really surprised with booking.com that they allow this on their site )

Good hotel, bad unit.
The Hanalei Bay Resort is a nice older hotel. We enjoyed our stay and the pool. The cleaning staff was super nice.
Our unit was old, the furnishings minimal, no microwave, one small toilet garbage bin, no smart tv, no towel hooks. Would never stay at this unit.

Tons of fees - not worth the price
The beach is nice, but it is a long, steep walk uphill to return (they will provide a shuttle if requested). The hot tub and pool are nice.
This is a bait and switch. The price listed was $937. However, after paying, we realized that with all the added fees, we paid about DOUBLE, $1833. Then, we were required to pay another $282 in additional fees at check-in. Bringing our total to over $2115 for 5 nights. I've never experienced this with booking before. This was over double what we expected to pay, and I can't say that the place is worth it.
They refer to themselves as a "resort", however I saw nothing that would indicate that. There's no spa/massages, no drinks served poolside or anything like that. There's no restaurant on site, only a bar with strange hours of business - only open in the evening and only certain days per week. No store or anything on site. You have to drive quite a ways to get to the nearest store/restaurant. No breakfast or lunch available on site.
There were no cooking devices available in the room. Not even a basic microwave. Yet, there were cabinets full of dishes and utensils, but nowhere to wash them except the bathroom sink, which was very odd. The paperwork we were given instructed us to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher when we checked out, but there was no dishwasher. There is a place in the center of the resort with grills, but there are no grilling utensils and other guests told us they had to go buy their own.
There's no room service, and we were told to wash our own linens in the centralized coin-operated laundry room (2 dollars per use for each). The tub was old, stained, gross looking, and missing the drain stopper. The water pressure was terrible. There was rust on the shower rod.
The parking situation is bad, and we were charged fees for this (included above). If you return to the resort in the evening, it is very difficult to find a spot.
