Central but disappointing

A good size flat and has potential to be cosy. Nice to have different seating areas. Central area.

I’m a frequent traveller and rely heavily on reviews, so I want to be honest. The flat was not clean enough on arrival. The toilet pedestal was visibly dirty and looked like it hadn’t been cleaned properly for a long time. The shower seals were mouldy and worn, the walls had a lot of marks, and the light switches were grubby. The kitchen cupboard handles had a layer of grime and there were crumbs left in a drawer. The bedsheets felt old and worn, and I found hairs on them, which made it hard to feel comfortable. Overall, it felt like the flat needed a deep clean and some updates to the paintwork. Something that wasn’t mentioned is that the flat is up nine very steep flights of stairs with no lift. I’m fit and work out regularly, but carrying a heavy bag up was still difficult, and the hallway lights weren’t easy to find. On the positive side, the host was very quick to respond to messages, friendly, and took the feedback seriously. She assured me that the level of cleanliness wasn’t usual and would be addressed with the cleaner. I don’t like to complain, but this was my experience, and I didn’t feel fully comfortable during my stay because the flat didn’t feel properly clean.

No elevator as apartment is on the 4th floor (top) of the building, smell of cigarette smoke in the building stairs, no proper pillows for sleeping in the bedroom, bed not comfy for sleeping, noisy neighbors in the same floor at night, no private parking
