Suitree Experience Hotel

Wonderful spot. We saw more wildlife there than on any of our tours. The people were great and very accommodating.

We had an amazing stay at Suitree Experience Hotel. We came after several days at a large luxury resort in Peninsula Papagayo and added two extra nights so our kids could stay in treehouses. It became one of the most memorable parts of our trip. The rooms were incredible, especially for our children. They loved the bunk beds and thought it was magical to sleep and shower high up among the trees. The rooms are functional and thoughtfully designed for families. The views are beautiful, and my only regret is that we did not leave more time to sit on the balcony with coffee or wine and enjoy the landscape and sounds of nature. Future guests should plan unstructured time at the hotel itself. The restaurant was excellent and very accommodating. The food is healthy and fresh, which we had not fully realized in advance, but everything we ate was delicious. The bartender was especially kind, and the staff overall were warm, helpful, and attentive. The service really stood out. Before we arrived, the hotel reached out to ask whether they could help us book activities. They arranged transportation from our previous hotel and an excursion where we hoped to take our young kids zip lining. When the original place could not accommodate children as young as ours, we messaged the hotel at the last minute, and they immediately redirected us and arranged transportation somewhere else. They completely saved the day and helped our kids go zip lining for the first time. On our second day, the hotel arranged a full-day experience near Arenal Volcano, and it was absolutely next level. We visited hot springs, covered ourselves in volcanic mud near the base of the volcano, went horseback riding, and took our kids on the most amazing canyon zip line we have ever experienced. Our kids also had an absolute blast in the pool and hot tub. We honestly wished we had more time at Suitree—not only more nights, but more time during the day to enjoy the hotel, the views, and the peaceful setting.

The property is so unique. We saw a lot of wild animals and howlers monkeys. The staff were professional and kind. The food was overall very good. The rooms were exceptional. Very well built, beautiful, luxurious and unique. We would come back for sure.

They asked me if we were celebrating anything. And I told them it was our 10 year wedding anniversary. And they didn't do anything for us which was weird. The pillows were very soft and uncomfortable. I asked for firmer pillows and they didn't deliver any. My seabass for dinner was extremely dry and the worst dish I had.

The views are great and you can see lots of birds and wildlife. The food and drinks were good. The pools are nice. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.

Our room unfortunately ran out of water and we were unable to use the sink or the shower. The AC unit also was temperamental and would randomly shut off which in the morning it gets very hot in the unit as it is glass and the sun beats down on the windows. Don’t bring a lot of luggage as there are many stairs up to the unit. We made this mistake but the plus side is the staff is more than accommodating to carry your luggage up the stairs if needed. I really wanted to rate this place well because the views were incredible but for the price we paid to have no water to shower/brush your teeth/wash hands and be sweating in the unit was not worth it.
