Edinburgh Country Estate Rooms & Apartments

The property was clean and spacious. Great interior,that made me feel like s princess. Welcoming staff covered all my questions and needs. Definitely worth the price.

Second time I’ve stayed there and I always get a warm welcome from the staff and the rooms are always incredibly immaculate. Will always keep coming back

I had a conference in Edinburgh this week, decided to give Edinburgh Country Estate Rooms a go instead of my usual hotel chain. Thoroughly glad I did!

This is a very different place to stay. We only booked in for the one night so didn't get to use or see everything. Having communal rooms that are massive and you feel like you are living in a period drama. The self contained apartment we had, had two large bedrooms and a pool table in another lounge room. The bedding and towels were fresh and clean. Hand towels and cleaning stuff provided in the kitchenette area. Though lacking a tea towel. Microwave also available for use. We loved being able to play pool and the price we paid was very good value. We loved ( looked at but didnt use)the large lounge,banqueting table, piano room. The farmhouse kitchen with fridge freezers and dishwashers. The views of the hills.

The overall presentation of the property looks neglected, garden and grounds overgrown. The toilet and shower room were clean and functional, but the windows were tatty with overgrown ivy covering them. The shower was a bit restricted in area because it was a triangle shower tray with a curtain, with a high step up, not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. So large bedrooms but tiny bathroom facilities. The two things that would have made the difference were a kettle in the kitchenette. Only kettle was in the kitchen. The problem being unless you stayed in the kitchen to have a drink, you had to negotiate two heavy doors to get back in the apartment, so could only carry one mug at a time. Also had to remember to set the latch so didn't get locked out. In the kitchen it would be better to have information on what you can use, it was not clear what was communal and what was belonging to other guests. There were no staff at the property to guide anyone. A bin in the flat too, there was only a bin in the loo. The kitchenette could have a few pots in the cupboard rather than having to use the main kitchen.
