Stayed here twice during our Egypt trip. Staff and owner exceptionally helpful. Can't thank them more for all the help. Property very clean with good healthy breakfast. Lots of eateries around and in central downtown location. Very close to the old museum. Recommended for a peaceful stay for budget conscious traveller

Just spent my splendid 2 nights stay at the Champollion hostel. As mentioned by other travellers, police stationed right outside the gate, you would feel safe at all times. It is conveniently located at the city centre, 5 mins walk to the old Egyptian museum. Loads of restaurants in walking distance. Metro also easily accessible. The highlight is the staff who works there, especially Luf the lovely girl who spoke great English. She always carries a lovely smile. The room is exceptionally clean. Shared kitchen comes in handy if you would like to make a hot drink after a long day out in winter. Water dispenser also a thoughtful addition to refill your bottle. Breakfast is nicely prepared. You could enjoy your cup of coffee at the little balcony. Highly recommended this hostel to everyone visiting Cairo.
