Dovecote Farm House

Excellent property, very spacious with a lounge and lovely conservatory with enclosed garden. Bedrooms all large and comfortable. Everything spotless. Hearty Italian meal at La Anchor across the road which was really convenient on a rainy Sunday.

Nothing. Steps throughout the properties downstairs areas and bathrooms were upstairs, just to be aware if mobility issues.

The host was brilliant and even owns the near by restaurant

LOG FIRE KITCHEN BEDROOMS. EVERYTHING WAS TOP QUALITY. Holiday or for work just a really nice house.

The house was beautiful, spacious, very clean, well equipped, and very homely with an amazing fireplace. The beds were really comfortable, we all slept very well!! The location was perfect for us , as we were visiting friends who lived nearby ( it was my husbands 60th birthday who didn't want a fuss). Otherwise, a car would be needed. We were greeted by the owner, who was very nice. A very pleasant stay indeed. Some really lovely places to eat not far away (all short driving distances, definitely recommend the Fox Inn for lovely yorkshire pudding dishes). They even let you bring back what you can't manage to eat... giant yorkshire pudding means giant), and there's an Italian restaurant just across the road if you don't fancy driving anywhere. Would definitely recommend this place as a base to explore the wonderful sights Yorkshire has to offer or just to chill out.

My only criticism of this place is that the step leading up to the kitchen is really high, I have a dodgy knee, and I struggled with this step. It could do with an additional step like the one in the conservatory. It's fine if you are fit , but not if you have mobility issues. Apart from that small issue, I couldn't fault it. It's a stunning place
