The Grouse Haus is tastefully decorated to reflect the owners' Northwoods passion for grouse hunting and other outdoor pursuits. There is a new 42” smart TV in the living room with cable; master bedroom has a 32” flat screen and cable; the twin bedroom has a Play Station 3; an office area with an extra monitor, keyboard and mouse are provided; and WIFI. You will be conveniently located near a wide range of outdoor activities with plentiful fishing opportunities, easy access to ATV and snowmobile trail systems, vast public hunting lands, golfing, hiking, shopping and 2 casinos within an hour's drive. You can literally do as much or little as you choose—it's YOUR vacation!!

Soo Lake is 561 acres in size with a depth of 21' and species of fish include muskie, northern pike, walleye, large and small mouth bass and panfish—a fisherman's dream!

The Georgetown ATV trail is within 3-4 miles ~ relaxing riding at it's finest!

We had a wonderful week at the Grouse Haus. The house is large and well maintained. The kitchen is well stocked. The views out the window are beautiful. The lake is shallow by the pier so a large boat might not be able to dock but it's perfect for launching kayaks or canoes. the lake is quite large and the Elk River is beautiful. we really enjoyed kayaking and exploring the river and inlets on the lake. Saw many loons and enjoyed listening to their calls. There are neighbors on both sides, but a thin tree line gives privacy and the lake and neighborhood were surprisingly quiet during the weekday - busier on the weekend.

The house was so clean and cozy and made our stay a fun and enjoyable experience. The water was so low that we couldn’t get our two boats in at the dock so that was inconvenient to have to unload and load up all the time to go fishing. We did find several new lakes to fish on which was a plus. The deer are plentiful in that area. Our grandson enjoyed fishing at the dam also.

Every Aspect of this house including the booking was refreshingly easy. Beautiful place to stay while you talk about all the birds you missed in the morning.
