Venture to nearby sites like the curious and quaint town of Guffey (where the largest meteorite in Colorado was found) to go for a bite and brew at Freshwater Tavern, swim at Guffey Gulch (formerly known as Paradise Cove), fish at 11 Mile Reservoir, gamble at the historic Cripple Creek casinos, be amazed at the Colorado Wolf and Wildlife Sanctuary, or visit Royal Gorge Bridge and Park and many more!

The Space:
Our highly-rated cleaning crew ensures a sparkling, clean and fresh environment where you feel safe to relax and use the space with ease. All touch points, kitchenware and linens are sanitized and disinfected on a regular basis following CDC guidelines.

There are 3 bedrooms: one master bedroom (king size bed), a second bedroom (queen-size bed) and a third bedroom (bunk beds with one full and twin bed as well as a pull out bed). The pull out bed has an extra pair of sheets in the dresser. The cabin includes one full-size bathroom with a shower, fresh towels, complimentary shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap. We also provide a few extra rolls of toilet paper, a hair dryer, flat iron, and a full-size washer and dryer for laundry.

The kitchen is well stocked with all the basic kitchenware you will need for family and friends for intimate meals. There is a gas range oven, refrigerator with ice maker and water filter, a grill on the deck, coffee pot, utensils, glassware, dishes and some cooking basics like spices and cooking oil. There is not a quick-access store nearby, so make sure you bring all your food and essentials!

Business Travelers
Inside there is a house manual with instructions, WiFi password and information about The Land. Working remotely is a new way of life and we’ve kept this in mind for those who are remote workers who can enjoy a dedicated workspace with high-speed and reliable Starlink internet. There is a monitor and HDMI cord. Enjoy the ease of keyless entry. The Land also has complimentary Netflix and Hulu accounts and hundreds of DVDs.

The Great Outdoors
The cabin sits on a large 35 acre property with seemingly endless activities to keep you entertained. There are yard games like cornhole, horseshoe, games, and the pond. There is a large deck wrapped in string lights with a grill, table for outdoor dining, and a patio furniture set with a beautiful view of the teepee and mountains.

Getting There
Accessing the cabin is via keypad entry. Upon booking the cabin you will receive a welcome message. Prior to your stay you’ll receive more access instructions for entering the cabin.

The cabin is open year-round but keep in mind the roads of Old Kathleen Ranch are well-graded dirt roads that are maintained and plowed by the Old Kathleen Ranch Homeowners Association. There is a ¼ mile downhill and curvy newly paved dirt road from the main road to the cabin. We will try our best to have someone plow if there is snow, however that is not guaranteed and visitors should ensure they are bringing an appropriate vehicle (especially in Winter months November - March).

Fireplace
We do allow renters to enjoy the ambiance of a cozy fire. Guests must use extreme caution when using, and ALWAYS close and lock the door when in use. There is a heater in the living room as well as baseboard heaters if guests choose not to use, heats the house in minutes!

Other things to note
There is not a disposal, please no food down the drain. There are some glass containers for bacon or grease. We allow pets to enjoy the cabin with you for an extra cleaning fee. If guests do not pay the fee and the cleaner finds there was a pet, we will be following up for the payment. Be mindful of tracking mud in the house, hair on furniture, and always pick-up after your pet like the responsible pet owner we know you are!

We had an amazing time at this mountain cabin! The property was beautiful and peaceful, offering the perfect spot for family time. The cabin was cozy, extremely well-equipped, and had breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. We spent our days hiking and exploring the property, soaking in the quiet and remote surroundings. It’s important to note that the cabin is quite remote— the closest gas station or grocery store is at least 30 minutes away. The host was very responsive. The cabin had everything we needed, including extra toiletries.

So thankful that we booked this perfect family friendly cabin for our Spring Break vacation. The location is peacefully set right outside the quaint town of Guffey and perfectly located right in between all of our planned day trip outings. During our stay, we received a winter wonderland surprise, an unexpected blizzard bringing in more than four feet of snow to the area. Not only was Haley diligent in trying to get help out to clear the snow, but the local community was wonderful and supportive of helping one another, as well. The cabin is stocked with everything needed to entertain the entire family. From the many available options of board games, movies, books (including my favorite Colorado Ghost Town book:) kitchenware, toiletries, literally anything you could imagine needing was available. The whole family enjoyed playing in the snow, hiking, ice fishing on the pond and making memories. We hope to visit here again in the future and would highly recommend this cozy caning to anyone looking to enjoy some mountain air and relaxation Thank you for everything Haley!

This property came as advertised. It was clean, comfortable and had EVERYTHING you needed. Even a drawer with all things needed (flashlights, batteries, scissors etc.)! The Land was picturesque! Even caught a couple of Aspens still in fall colors. The nights were quite (you are where there are few people and no street lights). The stars were BEAUTIFUL! I have never seen so many stars! It was a great stay. Haley answered all questions quickly. We would go back if ever in the area again.
