The positives - the staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more helpful; the location was unrivalled for Lyme Regis; the bar has obviously not had a makeover for a very long time but that’s not a problem and was actually quite charming; the second sitting area is newer and decent; the breakfast was pretty good. Overall it is all quite reasonably priced. The downside - our double bedroom was very small, very standard (for the 1980’s) decor and the bathroom was tiny with only a shower which barely had any space in it and the door was falling off. We would stay here again but would seriously look at a room upgrade - I don’t know if they’d be better.

Prime location at the heart of the city center ... literally steps from the beachfront street & attraction. Parking is available for the hotel guests ... could be crowded though. Breakfast was nice. Staffs provided great services.

sadly this hotel has gone downhill since being taken over by Hall and Woodhouse. Restaurant food is mediocre, the staff lack knowledge of the food and the kitchen closed at 8 pm (although hotel was full). Arriving for breakfast at pre-booked time a reluctance to restock with croissants as we were so "late". Room preference at booking wasnt taken into account. IT's lost the personal touch. And this is all about management.
