The street with a view overlooking the nearby ocean, the house’s architecture, the garden: it was love at first sight for us, and we’d like to share it with you
Located on a quiet and picturesque street in the Foz district, the apartment is ideally situated for those seeking tranquility, yet with all amenities nearby.
The building in which it is located features the typical “Portuguese” (Porto-style) architecture. It dates back to 1892 and was recently fully restored and refurbished, retaining numerous original features and maintaining its original style.
A two-minute walk from the nearest beach (Praia dos Ingleses) and a 15-minute bus ride from the city center, the area offers many bars, restaurants, and a variety of shops.
The area is perfect for those wishing to enjoy a stroll to the waterfront (100 m/110 yards from the house), or to the mouth of the Douro River and its lighthouse (800 m/850 yards), through Serralves Park and its modern art museum (1.8 km/1 mile), or through City Park (83 hectares of nature along the waterfront, 1.8 km/1 mile away).
The apartment is located on the first floor of a residential building and has its own entrance. It features a private courtyard overlooking the garden, where you can sunbathe and enjoy lunch in complete tranquility. We were biking from Porto to Santiago, and stayed in this property as our starting point. To begin with, the garden area was such a convenience to store our bikes safety. The place is in such a great location with many restaurants, grocery stores and of course beach within walking distance. It is really specious and stylish with gracious hostess. We really enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again next time in Foz.

We loved the location. Off the beaten track a bit (10 minute drive to downtown, 20 minutes to the airport)), but close to things you need. We could walk to get dinner, groceries or bakery items and the beach. Lots of good quality restaurants within walking distance. Only spent time inside the flat to sleep because the terrace was so nice. Had 1 issue closing the door (I didn’t read the instructions properly) and the host was available to help us right away.
