Breakfast was a GREAT CUP of DOMICAN COFFEE daily. SUPERMERCADO JOSE LUIS was a quick 6 minute walk downhill. There was also a good CHICKEN PLACE within walking distance.
The combination of GREAT MOUNTAIN VIEWS behind this middle class Dominican apartment + the 20 minute walk from the property to either ACAPULCO BEACH or PUERTO PLATA BEACH makes this 3rd floor apartment a GREAT VALUE for 5 days up to two weeks.
The HOSTS were kind and friendly, the 3rd floor view was astounding, and it was good value for money.
The aircon was not working but it was JANUARY and there was a FAN in the room.
You may wish to insist that the AIRCON be fixed from MAY thru SEPT. as it can get HOT & HUMID in Puerto Plata.
ALSO, be sure to bring EAR PLUGS as the sounds of Roosters, Dogs barking, & constant motorcycle traffic are in this middle class dominican neighborhood. Cheap earplugs are the only solution to "sounds in the night."
