Bunk house Fort Kochi

This is one of the best hostels I stayed at. The location is top notch. The place is clean, well maintained and amazing if you are working remotely. I had plans to stay there for just 4 days. I extended my stay for almost 2 more weeks. Mirza is a wonderful host. He will suggest you tthe best places around. He even took me to Sofar Kochi, which was magical. Bunk house is gonna be my go to everytime I visit Kochi for sure.

I’m a solo traveller who has been travelling for the last 5 years and a digital nomad for the past year. I’ve stayed in several hostels across different states, but there’s something about Bunk House, Fort Kochi that I haven’t experienced before. It’s the warmth of the people. The way the hosts, who are also the founders, speak to every guest and genuinely take care of everything. From local recommendations to helping with tickets, bookings, and even things that don’t technically fall under their job description. You can tell they truly care and want every guest to feel at home. The building itself is an experience. This 200+ year old Dutch house has a story in every corner and somehow manages to leave you awestruck every day. The rooms are beautifully designed. The mixed dorm is spacious, thoughtfully designed, and equipped with everything you need. I loved how wide the beds are, the cleanliness, and the beautiful yellow glass windows. What stood out to me most is that this place feels like it was built by travellers, for travellers. There’s attention to the smallest details that many hostels either overlook or don’t prioritise enough. The location is a bonus. It’s just a few minutes’ walk from Fort Kochi Beach, and almost every café you’ve probably seen on Instagram is nearby. I believe four walls become something much more when people pour love, care, and passion into them. Bunk House feels like a testament to exactly that. If you’re planning to be in Kochi, choose this place. You’ll thank me later.
