Romantic farmhouse apartment for 2

L'Alouette is the smallest and most secluded of three luxurious, self-contained gîtes which form part of Barès, a traditional farmhouse in the heart of the Haute-Garonne département in Occitanie, South West France. Fully equipped and sleeping two people comfortably with one double bed in a small bedroom, leading off the sitting room, the apartment has wi-fi, satellite TV with French and English TV stations, DVD player and selection of DVDs, its own private terrace and garden within the beautiful grounds of Barès. The sitting room contains a wood burning stove which creates a wonderful Winter hideaway. The bed will be made up ready for your arrival and there will be plenty of towels. In the kitchen you'll find all the essentials such as tea, coffee, sugar, salt and pepper as well as fresh bread, croissants, milk, butter, jam, ham, cheese fruit juice, and a bottle of wine. With a gas hob, microwave oven, fridge, pots and pans, crockery and glassware, you'll have everything you need to cook up a feast, although for Summer breaks you might prefer to use the barbecue provided on the terrace.

In addition to this fabulous apartment with its own front door, terrace and garden area, guests have full access to the hectare and a half of grounds and the luxury 10 metre X 5 metre swimming pool. There is plenty of parking space.

We will be there to welcome you, show you around, make sure you have everything you need and will be on hand just in case of any problems during your stay.

At Barès you will find yourself in the heart of a stunningly beautiful, rural, farming community, unspoilt by tourism. It is a 10 minute drive to the pretty market town of L'Isle-en-Dodon where the nearest shops can be found, including a large well-stocked supermarket and a vibrant Saturday market. For a taste of the local cuisine and culture, head to Chez Jeanne La Fermière on Sunday lunchtime. For nightlife we recommend stargazing whilst listening to the frogs and nightingales in Spring and the crickets in Summer!

Barès is a 55 minute drive from Toulouse airport, or 1.5 hours from Carcassonne. This is fantastic walking, cycling, motorcycling and driving country. Just over an hour's drive from the Pyrenees and the nearest ski resort, Bagnères de Luchon and Super Bagnères. There's so much to see including the observatory on top of the Pic du Midi, or why not explore Cathar country including Monsegur, Rennes le Chateau and the medieval city of Carcassonne. Or spend a day in the vibrant 'Cité rose' Toulouse. Of course you could just relax and unwind at Barès enjoying the quiet, the pool and the view.
